Abstract


The objective of this research was design and performance testing of the curve wheel lug of hand tractor to soil processing at dry area agricultural. The materials using were iron strip, cast iron, plat, nut and bolt. While tools of research were fabrication machine set like weld machine, lathe machine, grinding machine, vise and hummer, stopwatch as timer, meter as distance measurement, pole, and rope. Result of the research was showed curve wheel lug of 90 % to effect optimal grip, slip load of reduce, and upgrade of traction wheel. Based on testing in the area was result data that slip of curve lug wheel under 15 %. The result of performance testing of showed that trace tracks given optimal grip until wheel lug leaved soil.

 

ABSTRAK

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendesain dan menguji performansi roda sirip lengkung traktor tangan untuk penggunaan di lahan kering. Bahan yang digunakan adalah besi strip, besi batang, pelat, dan mur-baut. Sedangkan alat penelitian adalah seperangkat mesin fabrikasi seperti mesin las, mesin bubut, mesin gerinda, ragum dan palu, stop watch sebagai alat ukur waktu, meteran sebagai alat ukur jarak, patok, dan tali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa roda sirip lengkung 90 % memberikan pengaruh cengkraman yang optimal, daya slip berkurang, dan meningkatkan daya traksi traktor. Berdasarkan pegujian di lapangan diperoleh data bahwa slip roda sirip lengkung masih di bawah 15 %. Hasil uji performansi juga menunjukkan bahwa tanah bekas tapak memberikan cengkeraman yang baik sampai pada saat sirip roda bergerak hampir meninggalkan tanah.
