Author Guidelines

Majalah Obat Tradisional (Traditional Medicine Journal) abbreviated Trad. Med. J, is an open access, peer-reviewed, and online international pharmacy journal. Trad. Med. J aims to facilitate updated scientific knowledge and research findings for international researchers and community. Majalah Obat Tradisional (Traditional Medicine Journal) is indexed in Google Scholar and WorldCat.

Trad. Med. J is a periodic scientific publication, which is published three times a year. Trad. Med. J uses a peer-review system in the selection of papers. Trad. Med. J receives the publication articles about research finding, surveys, and literature reviews which are related to the field of traditional medicine including phyto-chemistry, plant cultivation, pharmacology & toxicology, pharmaceutical formulation and biotechnology development. The published articles are the results of selection that have been approved by Editorial Board. The submitted articles should not be or have been published elsewhere.

 

The article is written in English (preferably) and Indonesian with Times New Roman font size 12 and compiled systematically. 

  • Original research articles – original research papers which have not been published previously and should not exceed 3,000 words (with no more than 6 tables and figures or other illustrations).
  • Review articles – will be taken into account for publication in the field of the journal’s scope. The review should not exceed 12,000 words (with no more than 6 tables and figures or other illustrations).

 

MANUSCRIPT STYLE

The manuscripts should be divided into the following sections:

  • Title. Title should include contributors’ names, complete affiliations, and corresponding author valid email address.
  • Abstract. Abstract structure consists of background of the study, objectives, methodology, results and conclusion, accompanied with 4 - 6 keywords (foreign author does not need to write Indonesian abstract, Indonesian author must make both English and Indonesian abstracts)
  • Main Text. Organize the main text as follow : Introduction (background and aims of the study), Methodology (materials and methods), Results and Discussion and Conclusion.
  • Acknowledgements. Acknowledge only those people and institutions that have made significant contributions to the study. Details of funding sources must be given.
  • Reference. References in the text should be denoted by giving the name(s) of the author(s) and year. References is written in Harvard style. All alphabetically ordered references list should be included at the end of the manuscript.  All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list. Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all information in the reference. Reference manager tools such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero are suggested for referencing.

  • Figures (photographs, drawings, diagrams, charts)

All illustrations should be clear, easily legible, and cited consecutively using Arabic numbers in the text (example: Fig. 1, Fig, 2, etc.). Please supply figures on separate pages from the text. All illustrations should be in the form of high resolution images.

 

  • Tables

Table must be concise and cited consecutively using Arabic numbers in the text (example: Table 1, Table 2, etc.). Title of the table must be clearly indicating the nature of the content and sufficient detail should be included in the footnote.

 

 

COVER LETTER FOR EDITOR

Submit cover letter with information on ethical statements (competing interests, informed consent, human & animal rights), conflict of interest, statement of original data and the manuscript not being considered for publication elsewhere, manuscript must not be a plagiarism.

 

PUBLICATION CHARGES

No Charges for article published in Majalah Obat Tradisional (Traditional Medicine Journal).
