All manuscripts submitted to this journal must follow the JIK’s focus and scope, and author guidelines of this journal. The submitted manuscripts must address scientific merit or novelty appropriate to the focus and scope.
All manuscripts must be free from plagiarism contents. During submission, authors are also required to submit a statement of plagiarism-free using this form. All authors are suggested to use plagiarism detection software for the similarity checking. During reviewing processes, Editors will screen the manuscript for its originality using iThenticate software. The acceptable maximum similarity index is 25% in total, with a maximum of 3% from each source, excluding quotes and bibliography.
As a peer-reviewed journal, this statement clarifies ethical conduct to all parties involved in manuscript publication Jurnal Ilmu Kehutanan, including the author(s), editors (editor-in chief and associate editor), and the peer-reviewers. This statement is relied on Practice Guidelines for publication as in Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE’s Best). The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) provides comprehensive guidelines on the ethical use of AI in research publications.
As a potential misconduct, citing article(s) should have scientific merit. Self-citation and request for citations can be legitimate, for example, when reviewing the literature in small field of study. Manipulative citation, such as excessive self-citation of an authors’ own work, excessive citation between journals in a coordinated manner should be avoided. JIK limits self-citation up to three references or maximum 10% of all references. Beyond the limit, it is considered as excessive self-citation. JIK’s publisher may inform the author’s institution of this breach in publication ethics. Data fabrication is another potential research misconduct, which JIK will investigate suspected fraud by writing to the authors for clarification.
