Over the course of its history, Jurnal Nasional Teknik Elektro dan Teknologi Informasi has made several developments and adjustments with the aim of improving the journal’s quality. Its full history is as follows.

1. In May 2012, Jurnal Nasional Teknik Elektro dan Teknologi Informasi was first published.
2. In 2013 (Volume 2), a new cover was used and the author guidelines were updated.
3. In 2014 (Volume 3), the author guidelines were updated again, and an article template was designed to ease the submission process.
4. In 2015 (Volume 4), the article template was updated. In addition, following the decision of the UGM Rector, the journal’s publisher was changed from Jurusan Teknik Elektro dan Teknologi Informasi to Departemen Teknik Elektro dan Teknologi Informasi (a change in name only). Henceforth, all sections containing the publisher’s name, such as the cover and article header, were updated. Also in 2015, based on the decree of the Director General for Strengthening of Research and Development of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education Number 2/E/KPT/2015, Jurnal Nasional Teknik Elektro dan Teknologi Informasi was accredited with a “B” grade, in effect from Volume 4 Number 4 (2015) to Volume 9 Number 4 (2020).
5. In 2018 (Volume 7), a new email (jnteti@ugm.ac.id) was created for correspondence related to the journal, such as ordering printed copies, making suggestions, or criticisms.
6. In 2019 (Volume 8), based on the decree of the Director General for Strengthening of Research and Development of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education Number 28/E/KPT/2019, the journal was accredited with a “Sinta 2” score, in effect from Volume 8 Number 2 (2019) to Volume 12 Number 2 (2023).
7. In 2020 (Volume 9), the article template was updated to incorporate English titles in articles; meanwhile, the journal name in the article header was no longer abbreviated. During this period, Jurnal Nasional Teknik Elektro dan Teknologi Informasi also migrated from OJS 2 to OJS 3.
8. In 2021 (Volume 10), the article template was updated to include English titles and abstracts, as well.
9. In 2022 (Volume 11), Jurnal Nasional Teknik Elektro dan Teknologi Informasi officially became a bilingual journal. Consequently, the journal accepted manuscripts in either English or Bahasa Indonesia, and accepted articles were published in both languages, with each being translated as necessary. Starting with Issue 3, the license was also changed from CC BY-NC-ND to CC BY-SA, to make it easier for authors and readers to share and reuse articles. This new, more permissive license applies to both new articles and retroactively to those published under the previous license. Also in 2022, based on the decree of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology of the Ministry Of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Number 79/E/KPT/2023, the journal was accredited with a “Sinta 2” score, in effect from Volume 11 Number 4 (2022) to Volume 16 Number 3 (2027).
10. In 2023 (Volume 12), new changes were made to the template and journal layout, including the use of blue color variations on headings and subtitles, to make published articles more consistent with the website theme.
