Implementasi Struktur Meander Line untuk Mereduksi Ukuran Butler Matrix 2 × 2

Abstrak

Butler matrix adalah beamforming network yang umum digunakan pada antena multibeam karena memiliki struktur yang sederhana dan efisiensi yang tinggi. Namun, Butler matrix memiliki dimensi yang relatif besar. Struktur meander line merupakan pendekatan yang banyak digunakan untuk mereduksi dimensi dari berbagai peranti gelombang mikro. Makalah ini memaparkan tentang implementasi struktur meander line pada Butler matrix 2 × 2 untuk mereduksi dimensi. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan menerapkan struktur meander line pada bagian through arm. Butler matrix 2 × 2 dengan struktur meander line dirancang menggunakan material dielektrik epoxy FR4 dengan dimensi 17,9 mm × 36,4 mm untuk beroperasi pada frekuensi 2,4 GHz. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa Butler matrix 2 × 2 dengan struktur meander line memiliki koefisien refleksi kurang dari -10 dB pada frekuensi 1,88 GHz sampai 2,93 GHz (fractional bandwidth 43,75%). Pada frekuensi 2,4 GHz, dicapai isolasi sebesar -6,15 dB, koefisien transmisi sebesar -3,70 dB dan beda fase pada port keluaran sebesar 91,37o. Penerapan struktur meander line dapat mereduksi dimensi Butler matrix 2 × 2 sebesar 34,54%.
