Journal History

For some years, the initiators of the journal have been concerned about the paywall model of academic publishing in journals; opportunities for scholars to publish our works open access (providing for maximum accessibility) without paying large fees are limited. By establishing this free open access scientific journal, the initiators aim to reclaim publishing space and break down the barriers to science. The journal invites scholars who have the same values to join forces to make open science.

This journal is published by SEBIJAK INSTITUTE, the Research Center for Forest Policy and History Studies of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Indonesia) with the inaugural issue is planned in 2024. To develop and improve its reputation and discoverability, the journal aims for reputable scientific indexing, once eligible. It also welcomes strategic partnerships with forest/ environment-related institutions for the sustainability of its “open science” initiative as well as the broader promotion of research and innovation.
