HISTORY OF THE JOURNAL

Asian Legal Reform Journal or known as ARJUNA is a double-blind peer-reviewed law journal that is managed, edited, and published entirely by the students of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada under the Asian Law Students’ Association Local Chapter Universitas Gadjah Mada (ALSA LC UGM). This journal is periodically published once a year (November).

ARJUNA was first established in 2020 with the name of ALSA LC UGM Law Journal and originally published on https://www.alsalcugm.org/arjuna. In its development, ALSA LC UGM Law Journal was renewed with the name Asian Legal Reform Journal in 2024 with the aim of following the development of journal regulations to remain relevant.

ARJUNA continues to provide a platform for law students in Universitas Gadjah Mada and other ALSA local chapters by featuring their articles in various areas of legal studies. ARJUNA aims to publish a student-written piece with the purpose to address the arising substantive legal issues in today’s globalization era especially in Asia. The submissions of the article will go through a double-blind peer review where the assessment process would remain the anonymity of both the Authors and the Reviewers. Reviewers would be picked according to their expertise in the relevant topic of the submitted article.

Asian Legal Reform Journal welcomes every authors, readers, and reviewers for their enthusiasm, contribution, as well as support for our work. We hope that through the Asian Legal Reform Journal, law students of Universitas Gadjah Mada and other ALSA local chapters would be able to further develop their knowledge and skills that would be required to create significant changes towards society.
