BANK SENTRAL DAN PANDEMI COVID-19: QUO VADIS?

Abstract

Bank sentral sebagai institusi yang dibentuk menurut hukum sui generis mengemban mandat memelihara stabilitas ekonomi dan sistem keuangan. Pembahasan mengenai bank sentral lantas tidak dapat lepas dari studi interdisipliner antara hukum dan ekonomi. Merebaknya COVID-19 yang memengaruhi perekonomian menuntut bank sentral untuk beradaptasi. Fokus dari artikel ini adalah analisis mengenai konsekuensi pandemi COVID-19 terhadap peran bank sentral di bidang moneter dan sistem keuangan, serta arah perkembangannya. Penelitian menemukan bahwa COVID-19 memberikan pengaruh atas perkembangan bank sentral. Bank sentral kedepannya perlu semakin adaptif guna menjawab tantangan makroekonomi dengan tetap berpijak pada teori, prinsip, dan praktik yang prudent.
