Journal History

Gadjah Mada Journal of Profesional Psychology (GamaJPP) was launched in 2015 as an outlet for the publication of a Psychology Master’s thesis at Universitas Gadjah Mada taking into account that this program produces a large number of final assignments each year. From the start, GamaJPP was published three times a year with the aim of disseminating empirical research reports that involve clinical or therapeutic interventions. However since 2018 GamaJPP has only been published in two editions a year.

There are some changes within the aim and scope of Gadjah Mada Journal of Professional Psychology (GamaJPP) recently. In the past few years, we used to accept articles adopting experimental and intervention-based research designs. Since July 2022, GamaJPP expanded its scope to accommodate the needs of evidence-based scholarly articles with implications for the development of research and practices of professional psychology in Indonesian context. As such, GamaJPP welcomes manuscripts in the area of Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Organizational Change & Development, adopting empirical, systematic literature review, or experimental research designs that justify their contribution to research and practice of professional psychology and meet the high publication standard.

Starting from the first issue of 2024, Gadjah Mada Journal of Profesional Psychology (GamaJPP) changes its previous one-columned layout (which had been done since 2021) to a two-columned layout. This change is done in the hope that our published papers would be more reader-friendly. It also adheres to the current trend of scientific publication. As for the content, Gadjah Mada Journal of Profesional Psychology (GamaJPP) aspires to deliver the latest developments within psychological science not only to Indonesian scientific community but also to the global community. and the final layout will employ LaTeX format, thus, authors whose submissions are accepted must submit references in BibTeX format using the guidance provided.
