The fourth publication of the ASEAN Journal of Disaster Health Management (AJDHM) continues its mission to advance disaster health management by disseminating research and practical experiences that address disaster response, emergency medical care, and health system preparedness across the region. This issue brings together contributions from researchers and practitioners that highlight lessons learned from real-world disaster events, innovative educational approaches, health information management, and emergency medical team operations.

The articles featured in this publication examine a range of important topics, including lessons for disaster response following the Putra Heights gas pipeline explosion in Malaysia, changes in cognitive and psychomotor competencies following a problem-based learning intervention for START triage, and the development of a health information management framework for emergency medical teams during disaster response in ASEAN. Additional studies explore pre-hospital emergency care for trauma patients at a national referral hospital in Viet Nam, offering system-level recommendations, and present the Singapore Emergency Medical Team’s experiences and insights from its response to the 2025 Myanmar earthquake. Collectively, these contributions provide valuable evidence, operational insights, and practical recommendations to support evidence-informed decision-making, strengthen emergency response capabilities, and enhance disaster health management across ASEAN and beyond.
