Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

The editor of PCD Journal welcomes article submissions in accordance with the following guidelines:  

  1. Articles have not been published or accepted for publication, or are being considered for publication elsewhere. In addition to the manuscript, a written statement should be attached which clarifies that the article is original and does not contain any elements of plagiarism.
  2. Types of articles suitable for publication include the following; research reports, conceptual ideas, studies, theory applications. 
  3. Another suitable type of article is a book review.  Please note the following requirements for submitting book reviews:
    • books being reviewed should be newly published (within the last one year for books in Indonesian and two years for books in other foreign languages),
    • book reviews should be between 3-5 pages in length, and
    • a copy/ scan of the book cover should be attached. 
  4. Articles are written preferably in English (British spelling) using academic language along with standard academic writing structure and composition. Manuscripts are typed double-space in a quarto paper size (A4), between 8.000-10.000 words in length including abstract, keywords, references, figures, and tables.
  5. Articles should be in form of essay which includes:
    • title (15-20 words),
    • author’s name (without any academic degree) with an e-mail address and institution’s name,
    • abstract (150-200 words for each) which includes research problems, methods, and results,
    • keywords (3-6 words),
    • author’s personal information (postal address, telephone numbers, and the mailing address).
    • introduction (without subsection, 2-3 pages) which includes background, objectives, methods, and literature reviews/ theoretical construct (if needed) of the research. The introduction section  ends with an emphasis on items to be discussed, 
    • discussion (consists of result of the study,written in the form of subheading(s)),
    • conclusion (is a brief summary of findingsand discussion. It is strongly recommended to 
      avoid mere repetitive statements from the previous sections) and
    • references. 
  6. Reference list format is based on APA (American Psychological Association) Sixth edition style. The reference list should appear at the end of the article and includes only literature actually cited in the manuscripts. References are ordered alphabetically and chronologically. We strongly recommend authors to use reference tools, such as MendeleyZoteroEndnoteetc. Herewith are some of the APA-based references format structure:
    • Printed book: Author, A.A. (Year of Publication). Title of work. Publisher City, State: Publisher.
    • Online book: Author, A.A. (Year of Publication). Title of work [E-Reader Version]. Retrieved from http://xxxx or doi:xxxx
    • Journal article in print: Author, A.A. (Publication Year). Article title. Periodical TitleVolume (Issue), pp.-pp.
    • Journal article online: Author, A.A. (Publication Year). Article title. Periodical TitleVolume (Issue), pp.-pp. doi: xx.xxxx or Retrieved from journal URL

    • Newspaper in print: Author, A.A. (Year, Month Date of Publication). Article title. Newspaper Title, pp. xx-xx.

    • Encyclopedia: Author, A.A.. (Publication Year). Entry title. In Encyclopedia title, (Vol. XX, pp. XX).City, State of publication: Publisher.
  7. Articles should be submitted in soft files using Microsoft Word application to the Online Submission page.


Online Submitting Manuscript Guidelines

The manuscript text must be submitted by one of two systems (second procedure will be preferred):

  1. Submitting document should be done by Online Submission System in the Power, Conflict, and Democracy (PCD) E-journal portal HERE.
  2. First, the author should register as an author or reviewer (checking role as author or reviewer) in the “Register” or HERE.
  3. After registration completed, log in as an author, click in “New Submission”. The article submits stage consist five stages, such as:  (1). Start, (2). Upload Submission, (3). Enter Metadata, (4). Upload Supplementary Files, (5). Confirmation.
  4. In the “Start” column, chose Journal Section (Full Article), check all the checklists.
  5. In the “Upload Submission” Columns, upload the manuscript files at MSWord format in this column.
  6. In the “Enter Metadata” columns, fill out all the author data and affiliation. Following the Journal Title, Abstract and Indexing Keywords.
  7. In the “Upload Supplementary Files” columns, allowed to upload supplementary data file or the statement letter or other else.
  8. In the “Confirmation” columns, if all the data that you enter were right, then click “Finish Submission”.
  9. If the author has difficulties in the submitting process via the online system, please contact PCD Journal Editorial team at pcd@ugm.ac.id.

Authors whose articles published in PCD Journal have to agree to these terms:

  1. The publication right of all articles published in PCD Journal is held by the editorial board with the author’s knowledge (the moral right remains to the author).
  2. The formal legal provision to access this digital e-journal is subject to the terms of the Creative Commons Atribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA), which means that PCD Journal reserves the right to store, to transfer/format, to manage in database, and to publish the article without requesting permission from the author, as long as it keeps the author’s name as the copyright owner.
  3. Articles that are published in printed and electronic are open access for educational, research, and library purpose. In addition to these objectives, the editorial board is not responsible for violation of copyright law.
