Hubungan Indeks Massa Tubuh dengan Keparahan dan Kematian Pasien Covid-19 di RSU Haji Surabaya

Abstract
COVID-19 merupakan penyakit baru yang muncul dan dikenali pada Desember 2019. Penyakit ini menyebabkan kasus kematian yang masif di banyak negara di dunia, sehingga WHO dinyatakan sebagai pandemi global. Peningkatan kasus kematian akibat COVID-19 juga dirasakan di Indonesia. Hingga Februari 2022, jumlah kematian tercatat 3,30% lebih tinggi dari kasus kematian dunia sebesar 2,3% dan WHO 1,50%. Peningkatan indek massa tubuh dapat mempengaruhi kondisi klinis pasien, termasuk keparahan kasus hingga kematian pada pasien. Pasien dengan IMT yang meningkat dinyatakan sebagai faktor risiko keparahan dan kematian pasien COVID-19. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan IMT dengan tingkat keparahan dan mortalitas pasien COVID-19. Metode penelitian menggunakan kohort retrospektif yang dilakukan pada pasien rawat inap COVID-19 di RSU Haji Surabaya periode Maret 2020 hingga Maret 2021. Analisis data dalam menilai hubungan antar variabel uji dihitung menggunakan uji Chi-square dengan nilai signifikansi (p<0,05). Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan di RSU Haji Surabaya menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan antara indeks massa tubuh dengan tingkat keparahan kasus (p=0,065) dan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara IMT dengan mortalitas pasien (p=0,014). Kesimpulan penelitian diperoleh bahwa pasien COVID-19 denga IMT yang kurang atau berlebih dapat memungkinkan meningkatkan keparahan kasus dan mortalitas.
