Journal History

Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (Indonesian Journal of Community Engagement), with registered number ISSN 2460-9447 (print) dan ISSN 2541-5883 (online), as a periodical journal conducted by a team under Directorat of Community Services of Universitas Gadjah Mada. It established since 2015.

Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (Indonesian Journal of Community Engagement) contains various activities of the teaching staff in UGM in handling and managing the various potentials, obstacles, challenges, and problems that exist in society. Implementation of service activities also involve the participation of the community and partners. Service activities are organized into an activity aimed at improving the welfare of society. It also publishes reviews with the themes that are decided by the editorial staff of JPKM. The journal is continuously published twice a year. At the end of 2016, JPKM had been published up to volume 2. Those can be accessed via online by January, 2017. All of the journals since the very first publishing in 2015 until the very last edition published in Desember 2016 have been completely uploaded and can be accessed via online. In the journal volume 2 number 2, some manuscripts were still submitted by email, so they were not completely uploaded by online yet.

JPKM has been currently indexed by both national and international indexer institutions such as: Indonesian Scientific Journal Database (ISJD - National), Indonesian Publication Index (IPI - National), Google Scholar, and Indonesia One Search (National) and several other indexer institutions.

JPKM focuses on the main problems in the development of the sciences of community services areas as follows: Community Services, People, Local Food Security;Training, Marketing, Appropriate Technology, Design;Community Empowerment, Social Access; Student Community Services; Border Region, Less Developed Region; Education for Sustainable Development.The supports for the publication of JPKM are an absolute requirement to keep its existence well and to make the dream of UGM to become world-class universities true.

Starting from 2017 and the following years, the manuscript submission process and any other management process related to the article or manuscript will be completely administered by online through the website of JPKM. The consequence of this full online process is there will be some publication delays and fewer articles. Therefore, the JPKM management will add six (6) peer reviewers and one (1) editor board as a part of the commitment to improve the quality of the journal publishing and also the online management of JPKM.

There are some changes on article format starting from Volume (4) No.1 September 2018. Since late 2018, manuscript template, submission guidelines, and citation guidelines had undergone changes and updates to improve the journal quality.

Furthermore, JPKM committed hard towards international-level journal.
