Abstract


Better: A Surgeon’s Notes on Performance merupakan buku kedua dari Gawande. Buku pertamanya berjudul Complications: A Surgeon’s Notes on an Imperfect Science menyingkap tabir dari seorang dokter bedah. Dokter bedah, seperti juga manusia pada umumnya, dapat membuat beberapa kekeliruan. Aspek kekeliruan yang dilakukan oleh beberapa dokter bedah, termasuk dirinya sendiri, dikupas oleh Gawande agar dapat menjadi pembelajaran bagi dokter lainnya. Gawande berusaha untuk mengungkapkan bahwa dokter yang biasa dapat melakukan sesuatu yang luar biasa, baik dari segi positif maupun negatif.
