The first edition of JKKI (Volume 1) has been published on 2012. JKKI was initiated by Prof. Laksono Prof. Dr. Laksono Trisnantoro, MSc., PhD, a lecturer at Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). JKKI has published four times a year, i.e., March, June, September, December. JKKI has been registered with ISSN (Online) starting for articles included in Volume 7 No. 1 2018. Since September 2017, the web page of JKKI was migrated from the portal jurnal.kebijakankesehatanindonesia.net to jurnal.ugm.ac.id/jkki. At the end of March 2018, JKKI has been registered in Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, CrossRef, BASE thus articles that are published and forward hold Digital Object Identifier (DOI) number. Additionally, starting from Volume 6, JKKI has improved the presentation of articles by adding the article genesis that includes information about pages, DOI, and article history (submission and acceptation dates).
Currently, JKKI has been indexed by both national and international indexer institutions such as: Google Scholar (International), Indonesian Scientific Journal Database (ISJD - National), Indonesian Publication Index (IPI - National), Indonesia One Search (National), and other citation databases of peer-reviewed scientific literature.
