Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the length-weight relationship and condition factors of Mullet (L. subviridis) in Lereng Lagoon Purworejo Regency. The samples were collected monthly from February until May 2002. Total lengths and weights of the fish samples were measured. The length-weight relationships and relative condition factors measured were analyzed, and then t-test and least significant different test were conducted for length-weight relationships and relative condition factor respectively.

The results indicated that the total length of Mullet had positive correlation to weight during observation. The length-weight relationships revealed that the slope values were significantly lower than 3 (allomatric growth) for each month of observation. The values of relative condition factors are vary from 0,9987 to 1,0162 for each size group for in all months. Those values are significantly not different to each other for all size and sex in all months.
