Gadjah Mada Journal of Psychology (GamaJoP) was launched in 2015 as an outlet for the publication of a Psychology Master’s thesis at Gadjah Mada University taking into account that this program produces a large number of final assignments each year. From the start, Gadjah Mada Journal of Psychology (GamaJoP) was published three times a year with the aim of disseminating empirical research reports that did not involve clinical or therapeutic interventions. However since 2018 Gama JoP has only been published in two editions a year (May and October).

Gadjah Mada Journal of Psychology (GamaJoP) has been accredited by National Journal Accreditation (ARJUNA) Managed by Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of Republic Indonesia with Third Grade (Sinta 3) for year 2018 to 2022 according to the decree No. 28/E/KPT/2019.

Journal of Psychology Gadjah Mada (GamaJoP) has been re-accredited by the National Journal Accreditation (ARJUNA) Managed by the Ministry of Research, and Technology/National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia and received Rank Two (Sinta 2) for 2020 to 2025 in accordance with Decree No. 164/E/KPT/2021.

Starting from the first issue of 2024, Gadjah Mada Journal of Psychology (GamaJoP) changes its previous one-columned layout (which had been done since 2021) to a two-columned layout. This change is done in the hope that our published papers would be more reader-friendly. It also adheres to the current trend of scientific publication. As for the content, Gadjah Mada Journal of Psychology (GamaJoP) aspires to deliver the latest developments within psychological science not only to Indonesian scientific community but also to the global community. and the final layout will employ LaTeX format, thus, authors whose submissions are accepted must submit references in BibTeX format using the guidance provided.
