Kompleksitas Proses Pembentukan Persepsi Risiko Antroposen

Abstract


Bumi sedang memasuki epos Antroposen, suatu perubahan dalam Sistem Bumi yang belum pernah terjadi sebelumnya dan tak terprediksi dengan pasti. Perubahan global yang radikal demikian, selain dapat mengubah persepsi akan alam, juga mempunyai serangkaian risiko. Oleh karena itu, telaah psikologi atas persepsi terhadap Antroposen dan risikonya dibutuhkan. Tulisan ini menggunakan penelitian persepsi risiko atas perubahan iklim sebagai analogi bagi perubahan global. Hal ini dilakukan karena telaah empiris dalam ilmu psikologi atas Antroposen belum pernah dilakukan. Tulisan ini menyimpulkan bahwa aspek kognitif, afektif, nilai-moral, serta sosial-budaya berperan dalam pembentukan persepsi risiko akan Antroposen. Berdasarkan construal level theory, jauhnya Antroposen secara psikologis memiliki pengaruh kompleks terhadap persepsi risiko atasnya. Persepsi risiko Antroposen juga dapat diperkuat atau diperlemah oleh heuristik. Kemunculan Antroposen berpotensi memunculkan reaksi emosi yang kuat karena sifatnya yang antropogenik. Aspek antropogenik tersebut juga dapat menghilangkan nilai kesucian alam yang justru dapat meningkatkan persepsi risiko Antroposen. Sementara itu, dalam konteks sosial-budaya, persepsi risiko Antroposen dapat dibentuk oleh dinamika kompleks antara nilai, norma, perspektif, dan aspek demografis. Namun, teori yang mendasari telaah ini belum dapat digeneralisasikan ke seluruh budaya
