Abstract

This article discusses the program to develop the potential of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Wedung Village, Wedung Subdistrict, Demak Regency. MSMEs in Wedung Village offer various superior commodities, including processed fish and shrimp products. These commodities are supported by the village's geographical location and the primary livelihood of the residents as fishermen. However, MSME actors face several operational challenges, such as limited access to technology and infrastructure. These limitations lead MSMEs in Wedung Village to rely on conventional strategies, making it difficult for them to optimize operational efficiency and expand their market reach. The KKN-PPM UGM JT-013 team implemented a community service program aimed at developing the potential of MSMEs through strategic updates. These updates focused on raising awareness about business legality and enhancing skills in financial management, promotional strategies, and marketing. The research methodology involved data collection through surveys and collecting data to identify the primary challenges faced by MSME actors, such as conventional marketing practices, fluctuating raw material prices, and the lack of business legalization. The collected data was then analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach. The program included training on digital marketing and basic bookkeeping, as well as assistance with obtaining Nomor Izin Berusaha (NIB) and Pangan Industri Rumah Tangga (P-IRT), designing product labels, and creating product catalogs. The program resulted in improved financial and marketing management skills and the issuance of business legality documents for MSME actors. This program is expected to help MSMEs overcome their limitations, optimize their existing potential, and accelerate economic growth in Wedung Village.
