Digitalization of Web-Based Marketing of Puntukdoro Village MSMEs and Geotagging to Strengthen the Local Economy

Abstract

Puntukdoro Village is one of the villages in Plaosan Subdistrict, Magetan Regency, East Java Province. Puntukdoro village is located in the foot of Lawu Mountain and near Sarangan Lake which strengthened its position as a village with high potential and exposure to tourist visitation. Apart from tourism potential, Puntukdoro Village has around 28 businesses which spread amongst different sectors, with high potentiality in the bamboo weaving center in Ngelo Hamlet and the production and sale of pentol in Klaten Hamlet. However, the high potentiality of businesses hasn't been maximized yet because product marketing in this village is still carried out traditionally, such as direct sales on the side of the road or in the market, without using digital platforms. Whereas in this day, digital platform has become main medium for spreading information which has great possibility and opportunities for businesses marketing to expand market reach. Starting from that, this learning and community service aims at understanding the problems and challenges of local business through interview methods and Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat (SWOT) analysis to formulate strategies in developing web applications and leveraging geotagging. The results obtained from the analysis are increasing market reach, online presence, and technology understanding for business owners. Utilization of digital platforms such as web application and geotagging have positive impact as seen from the analysis result. Evaluation of development and improvement continues to be conducted in order to enhance impact, effectiveness, and efficiency of digital platforms.
