Abstract

Nasi Island, Aceh has abundant marine resources, such as fish, cuttlefish, octopus, squid and crabs, which serve as the primary livelihood for the local community. Marine catches are only traded fresh without processing so that the potential of fisheries has not been in line with the economy of the local community. Efforts are needed to process seafood into finished or semi-finished products that can increase selling value. This program aims to encourage sustainable local economic empowerment through improving community skills in processing fishery products. This program begins with an analysis of fishery potential and processing, processing practices, socialization of marketing strategies, HPP calculation training, logo making training, to sales trials and customer satisfaction surveys. Through this program, the community is able to process seafood, create high-value products such as fish sticks, and expand business opportunities to improve local economic welfare. The results of the customer satisfaction survey show that the majority of residents are satisfied with the products produced, especially in terms of taste, aroma, texture, snack portion, to design, price, and product information. The alignment of the product with the tastes of the residents is expected to be a good start so that a sustainability program can be implemented to overcome the multidisciplinary problems, both in terms of economy and environment, that occur on Nasi Island.
