Ruang-Ruang Pembentuk Aktivisme: Membangun Narasi Politik Mahasiswa Pada Aksi 212
Abstract
Pilkada DKI Jakarta tahun 2017 telah menimbulkan polarisasi dalam dinamika pilihan politik mahasiswa. Informasi mengenai isu penistaan melalui media massa online yang mereka baca, menjadi pertanyaan penelitian yang saya ajukan demikian, bagaimana media massa mampu mempengaruhi sikap mahasiswa, yang menyeret mereka menuju sentimen politik? Analisis tersebut bertujuan untuk memahami literasi media baru di kalangan mahasiswa Yogyakarta serta memahami tindakan politik mahasiswa, sebagai salah satu pihak yang memiliki peran penting dalam demokrasi Indonesia. Data penelitian ini didapatkan melalui metode wawancara mendalam terhadap narasumber dan juga respon narasumber terhadap media online terpilih. Data tersebut kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori resepsi untuk mengetahui proses budaya pada pembacaan berita. Peneliti menemukan bahwa pilihan bacaan mereka dikuatkan oleh referensi dari pihak yang memiliki kuasa lebih dalam ruang sosial mereka, seperti senior organisasi, atau pihak yang paling aktif di grup, baik online maupun offline. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan pilihan dan keputusan politis mahasiswa masih mengandalkan ruang sosial pilihan mereka untuk menentukan mana informasi yang akan mereka pilih.
