  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Scope of Manuscript

ACI (Acta Cardiologia Indonesiana) considers manuscript with the topic in cardiology and vascular medicine and its related discipline. Basic medicine, clinical medicine, epidemiology, community and health care research related to cardiology and vascular medicine are welcome for submission.  

The manuscript  is written in English, typed in A4 paper format with left and right margins 3 cm, top and bottom margins 3 cm, double space. Font type is Arial 11. First page contains article title, name and affiliation of author(s), corresponding author and address for correspondence (postal and e-mail address).

Research Article

Abstract is written both in English (as Abstract) and Bahasa Indonesia (as Intisari). Abstract is structured as background, aims, methods, results and conclusion. Body of abstract contains maximum 300 word counts. A maximum of 5 keywords in alphabetical order and separate with semicolon (;) is given in the end of abstract.

The body of manuscript is structured as follows:

  1. Introduction
  2. Methods
  3. Result
  4. Discussion
  5. Conclusion
  6. Acknowledgement
  7. References.

Review Article

Abstract is written both in English (as Abstract) and Bahasa Indonesia (as Intisari). Abstract is non-structured and contains the highlight of  background and aims why the topic is written. Body of abstract contains maximum 200 word counts. A maximum of 5 keywords in alphabetical order and separate with semicolon (;) is given in the end of abstract.

The body of manuscript is structured as follows:

  1. Introduction
  2. Discussion
  3. Conclusion
  4. Acknowledgement
  5. References.

Case Report and Case Series

Abstract is written both in English (as Abstract) and Bahasa Indonesia (as Intisari). Abstract is non-structured and contains the highlight of  background and aims why the case is written. Body of abstract contains maximum 250 word counts. A maximum of 5 keywords in alphabetical order and separate with semicolon (;) is given in the end of abstract.

The body of manuscript is structured as follows:

  2. Case Presentation
  3. Discussion
  4. Conclusion
  5. Acknowledgement
  6. References

Figure

The figure should be numbered in consecutive order with Arabic numerals. Graphic figure is constructed with MS Excel program without background and margin. Graphic must be clear and readable. Graphic bar was colored graded black or filled with different effect to discern observed objects. Symbol can be added to emphasize the description of graphic or figure. Graphics should be prepared using application to ensure high resolution pictures (GIFF, JPEG, PNG, etc). A maximum of 5 figures is acceptable in the manuscripts. The figures is embedded in the body of the manuscripts.

Photograph is constructed in JPEG format with low resolution, while reduced in print format in 8 cm or 16 cm, the information in the photograph is still clearly readable. The photograph is embedded in the body of the manuscripts.

Table

Table is constructed without vertical line to separate the column. Horizontal line in table is only for the first row (column title) and the end of table. Each table should be numbered in consecutive order with Arabic numerals. A maximum of 6 tables is acceptable in the manuscripts. 

Table, graphic and photograph must be given number, title and description and embedded in the body of manuscript.    

References

Reference style is Vancouver style. References from journal, magazine or bulletin must be written in following order: number, author names, year, title, journal/magazine/bulettin name (abbreviate based on index medicus), volume and number, first and last pages.

References from book must be written in following order: number, author names, year, editor name, title, edition, publisher, place of publisher, first and last pages.

For references with six or less authors, all authors are written in references. If more than six authors, only first six authors are writtent in the references and followed by et al.  If the reference was published by the same author in the same year, thus in the year was added with a, b,c and so forth.

Publication Ethics

Corresponding/submitting author signs a cover letter for editor declaring that the submitted manuscript has not been published in other journal, not under consideration for publishing in other journal/publisher in the same time of manuscript submission and all authors agree with the manuscript submission. The signed cover letter must be submitted along with submitted manuscript on submission.

Peer Review

After editorial review, the submitted manuscript will undergo peer review process (2 independent reviewers will be assigned for research article and at least 1 reviewer will be assigned for review article, case report and case series article). Invited review will be exempted from review process. The first decision of reviewer(s) is expected to complete within 4 weeks.

Editorial Policy

Editorial staff has the right to modify the manuscript or return the manuscript to corresponding/submitting author to be revised or reject the manuscript for publication.

Upon acceptance, ACI (Acta Cardiologia Indonesiana) allows the author(s) to hold the copyright without restrictions and will retain publishing rights without restrictions.

Open Access

Accepted manuscript will be published in journal volume (biannually) and available both on-line and print version. Online manuscript is freely downloadable and open access (visit ACI (Acta Cardiologia Indonesiana) online to ensure wide publication for scientific purpose. The print version with journal cover binder is available under subscription.        

Article Processing Charge

ACI (Acta Cardiologia Indonesiana) charges an article processing charge upon acceptance of the manuscript the amount of IDR 1.500.000 or equivalent foreign exchange rate.
