Jurnal diterbitkan oleh Pusat Kedokteran Tropis, Fakultas Kedokteran, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, dua kali terbit dalam setahun. Misi Tropical Medicine Journal adalah menyebarluaskan dan mendiskusikan berbagai tulisan ilmiah mengenai berbagai macam penyakit tropis
Isi jurnal berupa artikel hasil penelitian yang berkaitan dengan penyakit seperti dengue, demam berdarah, malaria, HIV, dan lainnya.
