AUTHOR GUIDELINE

The editor of Jurnal Teknosains  welcomes article submissions with the following writing guidelines:  

1. Articles have not been published in any other Medias and do not contain any elements of plagiarism.
2. Types of articles suitable for publication include the following; research reports (laboratory, field, archives), conceptual ideas, studies, theory applications, issues reports, and book review. 
3. Please note the following requirements for submitting book reviews:

• books being reviewed should be newly published (within the last one year for books in Bahasa Indonesia and two years for books in other foreign languages), or it is the main reference of one of a field study.
• book reviews should be between 3-5 pages in length, and
• a copy/ scan of the book cover should be attached. 

4. Articles are written in Bahasa Indonesia or English (preferable) using academic language along with standard academic writing structure and composition. Manuscripts are typed 1,5 spaced in a quarto paper size (A4), between 8-15 pages in length including references, pictures, and tables.
5. Title, abstract, and keywords should be written in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
6. Article should be in form of essay with the following structure:
   • title (max 12 words): comprehensive, clear, precise and dose not contain sub titles. Title is written in capital letter with the font size of 14, formatted in bold and 1 space.
   • author’s name (without academic degree) with an e-mail address, institution’s name and its address,
   • articles’ completion date should be written under author’s address to show it’s contemporary
   • abstract is written in Bahasa Indonesia and English, formulated in one paragraph contained 100-150 words  which represents aim, method and result of the paper.
   • key words in English and Bahasa Indonesia (5-7 words),
   • section and subsection: section and subsection title are written in bold with font size of 12. Section title is written in capital letter, while the subsection title is written using title case.
   • introduction (may include subsections) contains background, objectives, literature reviews, theoretical framework (if needed), and materials and methods.
   • result and discussion can be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English, provide and discuss clearly on the problem and aim of the research
   • figure, table and formula should include title, number, as well as detailed information and should be refered in the text (figure title and number are written under the figure/picture, while table title and number are written above the table). Result which is displayed in a figure or table should be a final result. Figure and table referencing by mentoning the number not the position such as “ bellow”, “above” etc. but it should be “in table 4”, “in figure 2” etc.
   • conclusion
   • acknowledgement and thanks note can be written precisely if needed
   • references listed  should be referred in the article.
7. Reference list format is based on Harvard referencing style and ordered alphabetically.
8. Articles should be submitted via post mail to the Redaction office by including the soft files  in a CD or be sent to the Journal email: jurnalteknosains@gmail.com and teknosains@ugm.ac.id. the Article is written using Microsoft Word/Rich Text Format.
9. Notifications of the receipt of manuscripts and editorial decisions (whether the articles are accepted or not) will be informed to the authors by e-mail. Manuscripts that are not published will not be returned to the authors.
10. Author should be willing to revise their articles if needed
11. A successful author is entitled to 3 (three) copies of the print issue in which the article appears

SUBMISSION PROCESS

Author should fulfill the form as detail as possible where the star marked form must be entered. After all form textbox was filled, Author clicks on “Register” button to proceed the registration. Therefore, Author is brought to online author submission interface where Author should click on “New Submission”. In the Start a New Submission section, click on “’Click Here’: to go to step one of the five-step submission process”. The following are five steps in online submission process:

    Step 1 - Starting the Submission: Select the appropriate section of journal, i.e. Original Research Articles, Review Article, or Short Communication. Thus, author must check-mark on the submission checklists.
    Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file to be submitted, then click Upload button.
    Step 3 – Entering Submission’s Metadata: In this step, detail authors metadata should be entered including marked corresponding author. After that, manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.
    Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary file should be uploaded including Covering/Submission Letter, and Signed Copyright Transfer Agreement Form. Therefore, click on Browse button, choose the files, and then click on Upload button.
    Step 5 – Confirming the Submission:  Author should final check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to TEKNOSAINS journal, click Finish Submission button after the documents is true. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgement by email and will be able to view the submission’s progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site.

After this submission, Author who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Author is able to track his submission status at anytime by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes status of manuscript review and editorial process.

AUTHOR FEE

Jurnal Teknosains will not charge anything from the author for submission charges. Yet, starting from June 2018, in this issue, if your paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Publication Fee. Please click here.

SUBMISSION POLICY

All manuscripts must be prepared according to Jurnal Teknosains' Authors guideline. Upon the submission of the manuscripts, author(s) will receive the confirmation of the submission along with some submission declaration forms that need to be filled and signed before Editors can process the manuscript.
