Majalah Kedokteran Gigi Klinik (MKGK), also known as the Clinical Dental Journal, is a peer-reviewed, open-access publication dedicated to advancing knowledge in clinical dentistry. The journal serves as a platform for disseminating high-quality scientific work, with a primary focus on case reports that document rare clinical presentations and innovative treatment applications in dental practice. While MKGK also accepts original research articles and review articles, its distinctive emphasis lies in publishing clinically relevant case studies that contribute to evidence-based dentistry and enhance patient care. By prioritizing case reports, the journal aims to bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical clinical applications, fostering a deeper understanding of complex dental conditions and therapeutic advancements.
Established in May 2015, MKGK obtained its e-ISSN upon its inaugural publication, marking the beginning of its commitment to digital accessibility and academic rigor. Initially published biannually with 12 articles per issue, the journal underwent structural refinements in its second year, reducing the number of articles per issue to eight to ensure sustained quality. From Volume 3 (2017) onward, MKGK adopted a triannual publication schedule, releasing issues in April, August, and December, each containing five meticulously peer-reviewed articles. This evolution reflects the journal’s dedication to maintaining a balance between consistent output and scholarly excellence. In 2024, with the launch of Volume 10, MKGK further strengthened its academic credibility by implementing Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for all published articles, facilitating reliable citation and long-term digital preservation in accordance with international standards.
MKGK operates under a continuous submission system, welcoming manuscripts throughout the year in either Bahasa Indonesia or English to accommodate a diverse readership within the global dental community. All accepted articles are registered with the International DOI Organization, underscoring the journal’s commitment to transparency, accessibility, and the ethical dissemination of research. As an open-access publication, MKGK ensures unrestricted access to its content, enabling clinicians, researchers, and educators worldwide to stay informed about the latest developments in clinical dentistry. Upholding stringent editorial and ethical guidelines, the journal remains a vital resource for advancing dental science and improving patient outcomes through the dissemination of impactful case-based and research-driven knowledge.
