Peer Review Process

To ensure objectivity in selecting the articles we receive, JGLR operates with the double-blind peer review system, where the identity of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to one another. Our expert reviewers come from a wide range of backgrounds relevant to the scope of the journal's subject matter. In maintaining the quality of our content, we assign the topic of each article to the expertise of our reviewers.

At the first stage of the review, the Editorial Board conducts an initial evaluation of manuscripts submitted to us. Manuscripts that contain significant grammatical or substantive flaws may be subject to early dismissal.

Manuscripts that meet the minimum standards of submission are forwarded to the respective reviewers assigned to each one. A manuscript will be evaluated by at least two reviewers. The manuscripts are evaluated based on the following criteria:

  1. Originality and novel contribution to the field concerned
  2. Proper references to previous works
  3. Clear and organized content and conclusions
  4. Adherence to the submission policy and ethical guidelines

Typically, the manuscripts will be evaluated over a minimum of four weeks before the results are returned to the Editorial Board and forwarded back to the authors for revision. The results include a final decision on the acceptability of the manuscript.

Juris Gentium Law Review

Juris Gentium Law Review is a cutting edge Indonesian legal journal most renowned for being produced and edited entirely by students at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Established under the UGM Community of International Moot Court, we are devoted to provide a platform for likeminded law students in Indonesia to feature their articles in the areas of both public and private international law as well as comparative law.

JGLR publishes student-written pieces twice every year with the main goal of precisely addressing specific substantive issues that are recent within the areas of law. To ensure the quality of our publications, we operate with the double-blind peer review system where neither the Authors nor the Executive Reviewers would know the identity of one another in examining the manuscripts that we receive and transmit. Our Board of Editors is responsible to assign the Executive Reviewers for each article by considering their expertise and experience in a given topic or field.
