Important changes in 2021

Dear Colleagues,

We proudly announce that JTBB has been accepted to be included in Scopus indexation start from 2021. Ensuing with the Scopus indexation, JTBB accreditation is promoted to  SINTA 1 from September 2020.

To maintain the quality and standards of the journal, the article publishing charge (APC) is adjusted. The new APC will be IDR 1.500.000 for manuscript written by all Indonesian authors, and USD 75 for manuscript involving foreign authors. This will be applicable to all articles published on volume 6 2021 and the volumes following after.

We also inform you that JTBB will change from conventional publication model to continuous publication model in 2021. It allows the immediate publication of an article as soon as it is ready for publication and does not have to wait until a particular issue of the journal is completed.

More about the continuous publication

The Journal of Tropical Biodiversity and Biotechnology will move to a continuous publication model in 2021. This means that as soon as an article is ready to be published, it will be immediately released online rather than waiting for other articles in the issue to be completed, resulting in faster access to the final version of the article. We are committed to making research available to the community as quickly as possible, which is beneficial for both readers and authors.

What is continuous publication?

Issues will build gradually, with articles being added to the contents list as soon as they are ready. The ‘issue in progress’ is the issue that is open and that we are adding new articles to as soon as they are ready to be published. The most recent articles appear at the top of the relevant section. Every 4 months (April, August, and December), we close the issue and this issue then becomes the ‘latest complete issue’. Any new articles will then be placed in the next open issue.

The article’s page numbering

Consecutive page numbering within an issue is not compatible with the continuous publication model. However, to aid reading of the PDF, each individual article will still be numbered, starting from page 1. For citation purposes, each article will have a unique identifier that uses the last five digits of the DOI and will be clearly visible at the top of every page of the article/.

Citation suggestion

As articles will no longer have consecutive page numbering within an issue, page numbers will not be used in citations and will instead be replaced by the unique identifier and DOI.

Therefore, after the article has appeared in an issue, either in progress or in the latest complete issue, use the citation format:

Author, A., Author B. C. and Author D. E. (Year). Title of paper here. J. Tropical Biodiversity Biotehcnology. Volume, article ID. doi: xx.xxxx/xxx.xxxxxx

For example:

Ilmi, M. and Audinah, L. (2021). Title of paper here. J. Tropical Biodiversity Biotehcnology. 6,jtbb12345. doi: 10.12345/jtbb.12345
