Detection of Non-Structural Protein and Structural Protein Antibodies in Dairy Cattle Infected with Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in Boyolali, Central Java

Abstract


Penyakit Mulut dan Kuku (PMK) berdampak buruk pada kesejahteraan hewan, kerugian ekonomi, dan pembatasan ekspor ternak dan produk ternak. Hewan yang terinfeksi virus PMK akan menghasilkan antibodi protein non-struktural (NSP) dan protein struktural (SP). Kekebalan terhadap antibodi SP memberikan perlindungan pada hewan setelah infeksi PMK. Adanya antibodi setelah infeksi PMK merupakan indikator penting dalam pelaksanaan program vaksinasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeteksi keberadaan antibodi NSP dan SP serotipe O pada sapi perah. Dua puluh tujuh sapi perah yang terinfeksi PMK dan tidak divaksinasi di Dusun Bendosari, Desa Karangkendal, Kecamatan Musuk, Kabupaten Boyolali digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Deteksi sapi yang terinfeksi PMK menggunakan sampel usap mulut, susu dan serum satu bulan setelah infeksi PMK. Deteksi antibodi NSP dan SP serotipe O menggunakan teknik ELISA dari sampel serum. Serum dikumpulkan setiap bulan sampai enam bulan setelah infeksi PMK. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa antibodi NSP dan SP serotipe O masih terdeteksi pada sapi perah hingga enam bulan setelah infeksi PMK.
