Abstract

The burn is tissue damage to the skin caused by exposure to high heat, chemicals or electric current. Skin or tissue that burns will become necrotic tissue. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a platelet that is concentrated in a little plasma. PRP is used to stimulate and accelerate the healing of bone and soft tissue because it contains growth factor. PRP is obtained by blood centrifugation to get the most of platelets by minimizing plasma. The purpose of this study was to prove the ability of PRP from the waste cow’s blood to accelerate the healing of rat burns. Experimental animals used in this study were 10 white rats. An iron with round shape heat in fire, then stick into
rats skin to make wound. The experimental design were used 5 groups. Groups 1-3 were animal with 10%, 20%, 30% PRP concentration treatment. The other 2 groups would be the negative control (not treated) and the positive control (placenta extract 10% + neomycin sulfate 0,5%). The parameters used to measure the rate of wound
healing is the healing time and the type of tissue that is formed. The data were analyzed using One-way Analysis of variance (Anova) with Kruskal-Wallis statistical method in 95% significant rate. The result showed there is a significant difference between treatments. The results shown by the best healing wounds treated with PRP
concentration of 30%. Tissues analysis were done by making preparations of histopathological from the skin. The results showed that the treated wounds healed but the untreated wound, ephitelization were not formed yet.
