Abstract
Tidak dapat diragukan lagi bahwa selama dua dasa warsa terakhir ini, metode
analisis kuantitatip, khususnya ekonometrika, telah ikut meramaikan arena
perbincangan mengenai tindak-tanduk atau perilaku (behaviour) pelaku ekonomi di
Indonesia. Berkaitan dengan hal yang disebut terakhir, biasanya peneliti membentuk
dan menaksir suatu model ekonomi yang diharapkan mampu mencerminkan keadaan
sebenarnya mengenai "sesuatu" yang sedang mereka amati. Namun harus disadari
bahwa suatu model tidak lebih dari atau dapat diibaratkan seperti sebuah "tongkat"
atau "denah (map)" bagi seseorang yang "buta" atau "asing" mengenai keadaan dan
tindak-tanduk sebenarnya dari dunia nyata yang sedang dia pelajari. Dengan kata lain,
model ekonomi dapat diibaratkan sebagai denah agar kita tidak "ke sasar" terlalu jauh
dalam mempelajari tindak-tanduk vektor variabel ekonomi.
