Jurnal History

Journal of Applied Geology is the first journal in the field of geological science and geological engineering in Indonesia, with the purpose to disseminate the recent result in applied geological research. The first name of the journal is the Journal of Southeast Asian Applied Geology (JSAAG), which was subscribed in the Indonesian Science Institute (LIPI) on 19 February 2010 with the ISSN number 2086-5104 (SK no. 0005.077/JI.3.2/SK.ISSN/2010.02 – 19 February 2010). First edition of the JSAAG (volume 1) was published in June 2009 by Department of Geological Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Gadjah Mada University.

In 2016, the JSAAG was then renamed as the Journal of Applied Geology with a new ISSN number (2502-2822), and the first edition of the Journal of Applied Geology (Volume 1) was published in June 2016 by the Department of Geological Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Furthermore, the Journal of Applied Geology adopted the online journal system (OJS) in 2016, where the web page has been hosted to jurnal.ugm.ac.id. At the end of June 2016, the Journal of Applied Geology was registered in CrossRef; therefore, articles published on Volume 1 No. 1 and forward held the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) number.

 

In addition, based on the Decree of the General Director of Strengthening the Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 36/E/KPT/2019, the Journal of Applied Geology has been accredited by Akreditasi Jurnal Nasional (ARJUNA) officially Managed by Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, Republic Indonesia with SINTA 3 grade since Vol. 2 No. 2, 2017 to Vol. 7 No. 1, 2022.

 

Recently, Journal of Applied Geology has been indexed by both public and worldwide indexer institutions, for example, Google Scholar (International), Indonesian Scientific Journal Database (ISJD - National), Science and Technology Index (SINTA - National), Garba Rujukan Digital (Garuda - National).

Journal of Applied Geology has been accredited by the Directorate General of Research and Development of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, the Republic of Indonesia from time to time since the first publication on 2009.
