Author Guidelines

MANUSCRIPTS

Manuscript should be submitted in English on ISO A4 size paper and must be accompanied by a cover letter certifying that the work has been approved and signed by all authors. The cover letter must also provide the full postal address, telephone, and e-mail of corresponding author.

Manuscripts are submitted on the understanding that the work has not been published before and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. The corresponding author of the manuscript that was accepted for publication in the journal must sign a copyright assignment form before the articles appears in print. Accepted manuscript may not be published without the written consent of the publisher.

 

ETHICS IN SCIENCE

Informed consent must be obtained from human studies participating in research. Authors should follow the principles outlined in Declaration of Helsinki, and state that their instruction has approved the study proposal. Ethical clearance also must be obtained from The Institutional Review Board accompanying animals in the studies.

 

FORMAT AND STYLE OF TEXT

Title Page:

The title page should contain the following information in order given: (1) Full title of the manuscript with first letters of the main words capitalized, (2) Full names of all authors with initials and last names. Use superscript numbers to relate authors to different department or institutions, (3) Authors institutional affiliation including city and country, (4) A running title in italic, not to exceed 45 letters, (5) The name, e-mail address of the corresponding author. The author must list 3-5 key words for indexing purposes.

Abstract:

Abstract should be restricted to 250 words. Abstract should describe study objective, design and methods, essential results, and conclusion.

Introduction:

Introduction describes rationale and purpose of the study. Only strictly pertinent references are used.

Materials and Methods:

Materials and methods should be presented in sufficient detail so that readers can confirm the observations. Published methods should be referred and discussed briefly, unless modifications have been made.

Results:

Results should be presented in logical sequence in the text, tables, and figures. Do not repeat in the text all given data in the figures and tables.

 

Discussion:

The findings should be summarized in the discussion part, without repeating in detail the data given in the results section. The results of the observations should be related to relevant studies and pointed out the implications of findings and their limitations. Other relevant studies should also be cited.

Acknowledgements:

Source of financial support should be acknowledged. Acknowledge also persons who have made substantive contributions to the study.

Figures:

Figures include all graphs and photographs. Figures should be sequentially numbered with Arabic numerals, and should be drawn on a separate page with authors names and figure number on the back of each page. Figures should be given a suitable caption, which is typed together on a separate page and numbered clearly (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.). Figures should be planned to fit to proportions of printed page. Computer generated black and white graphics are preferable. If computer graphics are not available, photographic prints or hand-drawn artwork is required. Color illustrations are not encouraged. Figure should be supplied as tiff file with minimum resolution at 300 dpi.

Tables:

Tables should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals (Table 1, Table 2, etc.), with each table on a separate page. Double documentation of data in graphics and tables will not be accepted.

Offprint:

Offprint can be ordered on the offprint form that will accompany the page proofs prior to publication.

EXTRA ISSUES

Letters to editor, Guest editorials, and Conference Reports may be published as additional issues. The authors must pay full cost of these extra issues. Further information can be obtained from the editor or publisher.

REVIEW PROCEDURE

Two referees review submitted manuscripts. After the peer review, comments from the referees and the editor are returned to corresponding author. A copyright assignment form and instructions for preparing the final manuscript on a CD will accompany the letter of acceptance for publication. Three final copies of the manuscript and a CD should be sent to the editor as soon as possible after the acceptance letter has been received. The software used and the program version number should be clearly marked on the CD.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
