Research Interest

Structure and function of flavin-containing oxidoreductases with focus on carbohydrate oxidases and dehydrogenases; b-galactosidases from lactobacilli; enzyme engineering; application of enzymes for biocatalysis and biosensors; gene expression in lactobacilli

 

Fields of Expertise

Enzymes and technological application of enzymes; food biotechnology; enzyme characterisation; enzyme kinetics; enzyme engineering and improvement using different approaches; protein expression systems, especially food-grade systems.

Specific expertise with the following groups of enzymes: hydrolases (b-galactosidases and related enzymes) as well as oxidoreductases (FAD-dependent enzymes, copper-containing enzymes)
