Editorial Policies

Focus and Scope

BEST (Built Environment Studies) publishes research articles, report field studies, literature reviews that explore the broad area of architecture theory and practices, sustainably built environment, urban design and planning, as well as building structures and technology.

BEST is published biannually in October and April, by Gadjah Mada University. We aim for continuous dissemination of research related to architecture and built environment.

 

Thematic Focus

We welcome contributors with manuscripts that cover topics including but not limited to:

1. Architecture Theory and Practices

2. Urban Planning and Settlements

3. Density, Mass Transportation, and Public Space

4. Urban Revitalization and Land Use

3. Sustainable Architecture

5. Material Science and Technology

6. Building Structure and Construction

7. Craftsmanship and Local Architecture

8. Parametric Design and Fabrication

 

Scope

This journal provides is open access and freely available to the public, with the intention to participate in a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

All contributions will be peer-reviewed according to appropriate criteria. Please refer to our Author Guidelines and Publication Ethics tabs for more information on manuscript submissions.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
