Penelitian ini berjudul “Strategic Platform dan Pengendaliannya atas Sistem Informasi Pariwisata Sumbar”. Penelitian ini bertujuan (a) untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis penyebab belum diterapkannya inovasi terhadap website pariwisata pada Dinas Pariwisata Provinsi Sumatera Barat, (b) untuk mengetahui kesiapan Dinas Pariwisata Provinsi Sumatera Barat dalam pengembangan website pariwisatanya, dan (c) untuk mengidentifikasi adanya pengauditan website pariwisata di Provinsi Sumatera Barat.
Dalam penelitian ini digunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian studi kasus. Adapun teknik yang digunakan ialah dokumentasi, observasi, dan wawancara. Analisis dokumen, utamanya, difokuskan pada Rencana Strategis Dinas Pariwisata Provinsi Sumatera Barat dari tahun 2017-2021. Hasil penelitian ini berupa temuan bahwa pegawai Dinas Pariwisata Provinsi Sumatera Barat belum siap untuk mengembangkan platform pariwisata. Para aparaturnya masih terbatas memikirkan tentang proses integrasi dan pengenalan pariwisata kepada masyarakat. Yang terkait pengaturan sistem informasi pariwisata dilakukan oleh pihak ketiga. Alur informasi pariwisata baru melalui satu personil. Pihak Dinas Pariwisata Provinsi Sumatera Barat belum melakukan pengauditan terhadap platform pariwisata. Rekomendasi yang disampaikan dalam penelitian ini ialah kesediaan pegawai Dinas Pariwisata Provinsi Sumatera Barat untuk mempersiapkan platform yang sesuai dengan standar normatif.
