The research reveals that unequal gender roles within household dynamics significantly contribute to poor childcare and nutrition quality. Employing gender as structure and feminist political economy frameworks, this article examines how patriarchal norms in agrarian families can be transformed through locally embedded interventions, such as household vegetable gardening, poultry and fish raising, fermented cattle feed production, and increased paternal involvement in childcare and meal preparation. Findings indicate that men's active participation in domestic tasks not only disrupts rigid gender structures but also strengthens household food resilience and overall family well-being. The role of academics as social facilitators proves crucial in guiding agrarian families toward more collaborative and inclusive models of household management.
Widya Nayati, Suzie Handajani, Cuk Tri Noviandi, Sisparyadi Sisparyadi, Shielvy Nurul Yunita, Nouruz Zaman Oktabi, Abdurrohim Abdurrohim Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Wanita dan Keluarga http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/pswk/article/view/23495 Wed, 30 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Istri Bekerja di Pesantren: Pelaksanaan Hak dan Kewajiban dalam Keluarga https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/pswk/article/view/20409
This study aims to analyze how career women working as teachers at PPTQ SahabatQu balance their rights and responsibilities in both domestic and public sectors. Additionally, it examines the roles of husbands and wives in facilitating this balance and explores the Islamic legal perspective on the fulfillment of these rights and responsibilities. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. Primary data was collected through in-depth interviews with four married teaching couples at PPTQ SahabatQu. The data was analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns of interaction and strategies for balancing roles. The findings indicate that career women face challenges in managing their time, energy, and dual responsibilities. To maintain balance between professional and domestic roles, couples adopt strategies such as intensive communication, negotiation with their spouses, delegation of household tasks, and an Islamic law-based understanding of gender role flexibility. The implementation of career women's rights and responsibilities within the pesantren environment aligns with Islamic principles. However, improvements in communication and role distribution are still necessary to prevent imbalances in household responsibilities.
Raden Rara Lisa Fa'atirahmah Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Wanita dan Keluarga http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/pswk/article/view/20409 Wed, 30 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Keluarga Patriarki dalam Pandangan Feminisme Liberal: Studi Pada Keluarga di Desa Sumbertumpuk Pasuruan https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/pswk/article/view/23497
Patriarchal families are still the main pattern in the social structure of Sumbertumpuk Village, Pasuruan, which creates gender inequality and positions women in a subordinate position. This research aims to explore the dynamics of women's roles in patriarchal families and examine the views of liberal feminism as the basis for the transformation of gender equality in the neighborhood. This research method is qualitative research using a gender-based critical descriptive approach, through observation and in-depth interviews with women and men in the family. The results show that women in Sumbertumpuk face a double burden and limited access to education and economic opportunities, which strengthens their dependence on men. However, awareness of the need for change is starting to show through solidarity and small discussions within the family, as well as support from policies that favor women's empowerment. These findings emphasize the importance of policies and education that can facilitate a paradigm shift from patriarchal structures towards more egalitarian families, as supported by the philosophy of liberal feminism.
Dicky Jasmiarto, Ahmad Ridwan, Refti Handini Listyani Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Wanita dan Keluarga http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/pswk/article/view/23497 Wed, 30 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Partisipasi Perempuan Pada Program Akademi Paradigta Dalam Pelaksanaan Pendidikan Kepemimpinan Perempuan Di Kecamatan Ringinarum Kabupaten Kendal https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/pswk/article/view/19915
This study aims to analyze women's participation in the Paradigta Academy Program, particularly in the implementation of women's leadership education at the village level. The Paradigta Academy is a community empowerment program designed to strengthen the role of women in village leadership through training, group discussions, and field practice. This study identified various forms of participation by women participants, such as thought participation (submission of ideas), labor participation (contribution of time and physical labor), skill participation (contribution of skills in practical activities) and money participation. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection through observation, documentation and interviews. The results showed that women's involvement not only improved the knowledge and skills of individual participants, but also strengthened social networks and community capacity in dealing with village issues. The program effectively created space for women to play an active role in the decision-making process and promoted an inclusive and collaborative leadership model. Women's participation in the program also showed a positive impact in raising social awareness and encouraging women's role as agents of change in the village environment. It is recommended that this program continue to be developed and supported by the local government.
Meti Ayu Wulandari, Siti Andarwati, Dina Ruslanjari Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Wanita dan Keluarga http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/pswk/article/view/19915 Wed, 30 Jul 2025 13:35:23 +0700 Kepemimpinan Perempuan Sebagai Katalis Transformasi Sosial di Kampung Buruh Migran https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/pswk/article/view/23496
Migrant workers face various forms of vulnerability, including human trafficking, fraud, physical and sexual violence, and administrative issues that impact their families. Unfortunately, many of these issues have not received adequate formal attention, making grassroots initiatives highly essential. One prominent figure in migrant worker advocacy is Maizidah Salas, a former survivor who now actively advocates for migrant workers' rights through Kampung Buruh Migran in Kaliwiro, Wonosobo. This study employs a case study method, utilizing intersectionality theory and transformational leadership theory to analyze how Maizidah Salas' identity as a woman, former migrant worker, and activist contributes to the social movement. The findings indicate that her experiences and leadership position her as a catalyst in strengthening migrant worker solidarity, raising awareness of their rights, helping to manage migrant workers' families in their home villages and promoting more inclusive policy changes. This study affirms that grassroots women's leadership plays a strategic role in social transformation, particularly in advocating for justice and protection for migrant workers.
Unik Dian Cahyawati Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Wanita dan Keluarga http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/pswk/article/view/23496 Wed, 30 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0700
