Special Issue 2025

The Journal of the Civil Engineering Forum (JCEF) is inviting researchers and practitioners to submit articles for a special issue dedicated to "Seismic Performance and Disaster Mitigation" and "Transport and Disaster".
Special Issue: Seismic Performance and Disaster Mitigation
This special issue aims to be a platform for interdisciplinary research that addresses the challenges of seismic threats, particularly in disaster-prone regions. Our focus is on innovations in design, analysis, and mitigation strategies to create resilient infrastructure and safer communities.
📚 Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
- Performance-based seismic design
- Seismic assessment and retrofitting of existing structures
- Base isolation and energy dissipation systems for seismic protection
- Soil-structure interaction under seismic loads
- Seismic risk and vulnerability analysis
- Geotechnical earthquake engineering and liquefaction
- Earthquake and tsunami early warning systems
- Earthquake-induced tsunami engineering and mitigation
- Applications of GIS and Remote Sensing for seismic risk mapping
- Utilization of Big Data, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence in earthquake engineering
- Behavior of materials and structural components under seismic loads
- Performance of lifeline infrastructure (transportation, water, energy networks) during earthquakes
👥 Guest Editors: Prof. Ali Awaludin & Andika Monanta E., M.Eng
🗓 Deadline for Submissions: December 31, 2025
Join us in advancing the technologies and methodologies that protect society and enhance our resilience to earthquake disasters.
Special Issue: Transport and Disaster
In collaboration with ASEA UNINET Project
This special issue aims to explore the critical nexus between transportation systems and disaster management. Resilient and efficient transport infrastructure is key to evacuation, emergency response, and post-disaster recovery. We are seeking innovative research that can enhance the resilience and performance of transportation systems in the face of various hazards.
📚 Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
- Resilience of transportation networks and infrastructure (road, rail, ports, airports).
- Disaster evacuation planning and modeling.
- Humanitarian logistics and supply chain management for emergency aid.
- Post-disaster damage assessment and rapid recovery of transport infrastructure.
- Application of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) for disaster management.
- Impact of climate change on the vulnerability of transport infrastructure.
- Risk analysis and mitigation strategies for transportation assets.
- The role of emerging technologies (drones, AI, Big Data) in transport management during disasters.
- Accessibility and mobility for vulnerable populations during emergency situations.
- Transportation policy and planning for disaster risk reduction.
