This study aims to (1) assess the trend of soybean imports in Indonesia and (2) identify the factors influencing soybean imports in the country. The research relies on secondary data in the form of time series data spanning from 1991 to 2020. The fundamental methodology employed in this study is quantitative descriptive analysis. The analytical approach adopted is ordinary least squares (OLS), utilizing simple linear regression to discern the trend in soybean imports and multiple linear regression to pinpoint the factors impacting soybean imports. The findings reveal that Indonesian soybean imports exhibit an average annual increase of 72,628.82 tons. Partially, GDP demonstrates a positive and significant influence on the volume of Indonesia's soybean imports. The volume of soybean imports in Indonesia posts the implementation of the import liberalization policy in 1998 surpassed pre-policy levels. Conversely, the exchange rate of the United States Dollar against the Indonesian Rupiah has a negative and significant impact. Additionally, soybean productivity and US soybean producer prices have an insignificant effect on the volume of Indonesian soybean imports.
Adhisty Puri Damayanti Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Agribusiness Management and Development https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/JAMADEV/article/view/11775 Wed, 27 Sep 2023 00:00:00 +0700 COMPETITIVENESS AND ECONOMIC STRUCTURE OF BASIC FOOD CROP COMMODITIES IN GUNUNGKIDUL REGENCY https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/JAMADEV/article/view/11993
Optimizing local potential in food crop-based commodities can increase regional economic development, including in Gunungkidul Regency. Food crop commodities in the area include up land rice, peanuts, cassava, corn, and soybeans. This research aimed at 1) analyzing the competitiveness of food crop base commodities and 2) analyzing the pattern and structure of growth of food crop base commodities in Gunungkidul Regency. The first objective was solved using the Location Quotient (LQ) and Shift-Share Analysis (SSA) overlay method. LQ is used to determine commodities that have comparative advantages. SSA is used to determine commodities that have competitive advantages. The second objective was solved using the Klassen Typology method. Commodities that have comparative advantages and competitive advantages are peanuts and up land rice. Corn and cassava only have competitive advantages, while soybeans have no competitive or comparative advantages. Peanuts and up land rice have excellent growth structures, while corn and cassava are developing, and soybeans are relatively underdeveloped, with growth rates and economic contributions that are relatively lower than at the provincial level.

Keywords :Food Crops, Klassen Typology, Location Quotient, Shift Share Analysis.
Salsabila Kharisma Pramesti Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Agribusiness Management and Development https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/JAMADEV/article/view/11993 Fri, 19 Apr 2024 11:56:39 +0700 DETERMINANT FACTORS OF FARMERS' DECISIONS IN PURCHASING LIQUID ORGANIC BIOFERTILLIZER PT GREAT GIANT FOODS LAMPUNG https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/JAMADEV/article/view/12060
In Indonesia, organic fertilizer was known before the green revolution era. However, the green revolution led farmers to choose inorganic fertilizer because it was cheaper and more practical. Increased use of inorganic fertilizers has resulted in reduced agricultural productivity and land degradation, thereby reinvigorating interest in organic farming. In fact, agricultural land in South Lampung Regency in 2013 experienced an increase of 6.91% in the last 10 years. PT Great Giant Foods (PT GGF) as the largest pineapple industry in Indonesia, processes its production waste into Liquid Organic Biofertillizer (LOB) organic fertilizer. The objectives of this research are (1) to determine farmers' behavior in making decisions to purchase LOB organic fertilizer; and (2) to determine the external and internal factors that influence farmers' purchasing decisions for LOB organic fertilizer in South Lampung Regency. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis to answer the first problem and multiple linear regression analysis for the second problem, which is then implemented in the form of descriptive analysis. The results of this research show that: (1) farmers use organic fertilizer to improve production quality. Their main source of information is fellow farmer friends or neighbors. Other organic fertilizer options used are guano fertilizer and manure. The decision to use LOB is influenced by fellow farmers and heads of farmer groups with purchasing locations from agents. Farmers' responses to LOB were positive, especially in protecting plants from pests and increasing plant growth; (2) LOB purchasing decisions are influenced by external factors such as culture, reference group, and family, as well as internal factors including motivation, the role of age, and the role of education.
Dwi Angga Winata Winata Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Agribusiness Management and Development https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/JAMADEV/article/view/12060 Fri, 19 Apr 2024 11:59:22 +0700 PARTICIPATION OF MEMBERS OF THE RIMBA KALOKA FARMER YOUTH GROUP AND ITS INFLUENCE ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF AVOCADO AGRIBUSINESS IN KARANGDOWO SUB-DISTRICT, KLATEN DISTRICT https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/JAMADEV/article/view/12977
Participation of members of the Rimbakaloka Farmer Youth Group (KPTRK) plays an important role in the development of avocado agribusiness in Karangdowo District, Klaten Regency. Technological advances have led to the development of cage types in broiler rearing from open house to close house. The purpose of this study was to determine the production cost structure and income of broiler farming in partnership pattern using open house and close house cages in Banyumas Regency. The basic method used was descriptive quantitative. The method of determining the sample was carried out using snowball sampling, with a total of 30 farmers using open house cages and 30 farmers using close house cages who followed the partnership pattern. This research uses farming analysis to obtain income, namely reducing the amount of
revenue with the costs incurred. The results showed that farmers who used close house cages earned higher income than farmers who used open house cages. The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on the income of broiler farms in Banyumas Regency, especially those using open house cages, because the income during the
Covid-19 pandemic was negative - Rp1,608,487/1,000 birds/year for open house cages and Rp2,08,756/1,000 birds/year for close house cages.
