This is due to many things, including green spaces that are not maximized. In this research, in addition to using the QGIS geospatial application, fuzzy logic is also used in decision making. The research uses quantitative research with additional literacy studies. The data used in this research is image data from QGIS, which is then integrated with fuzzy logic. The parameters used in this research are Vegetation Density, Population Density, and Air Quality. The data obtained in this study is that the vegetation density obtained is included in the low category, the population density is included in the high category with a value of 22,062.98 people/km2. Based on fuzzy logic, if vegetation is low and population density is high then air quality is low. This is in accordance with the data which states that during August-September 2024 the air quality in Jakarta was at 51.84 on the PM2.5 scale. Therefore, it is necessary to create more green open land than what currently exists if the air quality in central Jakarta is to be better than now.

Mahmud Badarudin, Asep Adang Supriyadi, Syachrul Arief Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Agribusiness Management and Development https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/JAMADEV/article/view/18481 Tue, 08 Apr 2025 10:15:09 +0700 Impact of Credit Guarantee System of GIRSAL on Employment by Agribusiness Firms https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/JAMADEV/article/view/18530
The study examined the impact of a major Credit Guarantee System - Ghana Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (GIRSAL) - on employment by agribusinesses in Ghana. Endogenous switching regression model was applied to survey data collected from 353 agribusiness firms (71 beneficiary and 282 non-beneficiary) across 12 administrative regions of Ghana. The study found that the beneficiary Agribusinesses fully engaged an average of five more employees than non-beneficiary agribusinesses. Considering the period of this research, in the middle of 2020, with all the ramification of COVID 19 on agribusinesses, including slowdown in market activities, five employees is a very remarkable number. Findings from the endogenous switching regression model show that the main factors that affect agribusiness’ participation in GIRSAL’s credit guarantee system are education level of the agribusiness owner, membership of farmer-based association and years of experience in agribusiness. On average, every agribusiness firm participating in the system has the potential to increase employment by 34 full time workers per annum. To sustain the positive impact of GIRSAL’s credit guarantee system, agribusinesses should be encouraged to join farmer-based associations for consistent learning. Policy makers should improve the agribusiness environment to encourage the formation and operation of more credit guarantee schemes.

David A. This study examines the relationship between financial ratios and stock prices of the plantation industry in Malaysia. The study adopts a quantitative research design to examine the effect of individual and combination of financial ratio on stock prices in Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE). The predetermined and random effect models are presented to estimate the panel data model and Hausman specification test applied to define appropriate model for either the fixed or random effects. The results reveal that the majority of individual financial ratio can predict future capital gain on agribusiness stocks, while the ratio of book to market value (BM) contributes as a highest predictive power on capital gain. The correlations identified between these financial metrics and stock returns underscore the importance of financial analysis in investment decision-making, highlighting how nuanced assessments of a company's financial statements can reveal significant opportunities for informed investment strategies. Furthermore, the study accentuates the necessity for robust financial reporting standards and practices that can enhance the accuracy of financial reporting, thereby contributing to a more transparent and reliable market ecosystem.
Ilmas Abdurofi, Mohd Rustam Usman Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Agribusiness Management and Development https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/JAMADEV/article/view/17180 Thu, 10 Apr 2025 12:32:10 +0700 CAPITAL BUDGETING ANALYSIS AND GOVERNMENT TAX INCENTIVES INTERVENTION OF PADDY NON-GRANARY AREA IN PENINSULAR MALAYSIA https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/JAMADEV/article/view/17182
Rice has been a staple food in Malaysia. Besides, paddy is among the food crop sub sector which has always been as an especial core attention for the government. The present study evaluates the capital budgeting and investigates the effect of Government tax incentives to the project assessment of paddy industry in non-granary areas. Financial appraisal of Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Profitablity Index (PI) and Payback Period are the selected indicators in capital budgeting approach. According to the results, paddy projects in non-granary area is financially viable where all financial indicators provide lucrative values. The project may be sustained with the proper profitability even though the distortion of revenue and costs are existed during the project. Since the project drags potential assessment in terms of financial appraisal, the more attention is suggested for the government to encourage the non-granary area to be part of paddy concern in Malaysia.
Roslan Azman, Masoumeh Hosseinpour, Mohd Mansor Ismail, Ilmas Abdurofi, Bashir Hamman Gabdo Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Agribusiness Management and Development https://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/v3/JAMADEV/article/view/17182 Thu, 10 Apr 2025 15:28:21 +0700
