RUBIKON, Journal of Transnational American Studies (JTAS) is an academic journal under the discipline of American Studies. The word “Rubikon” comes from the name of the ancient river “Rubicon”. The significant role the river played in its time gave rise to the phrase “crossing the Rubicon”. The name was chosen because this philosophy aligns with the journal’s objectives. Rubikon aims to be the bridge to understanding American influences outside of American soil, especially in Indonesia. Rubikon’s central concern is to shed lights on American influences that may or may not be apparent, but are present in Indonesia. This journal warmly welcomes writings from American Studies scholars, researchers, and those related to the discipline. Since its inceptiion, Rubikon has collaborated with American Studies Society of Indonesia (ASSINDO).
