Literature Review: Peran Ritual dalam Membentuk Identity Fusion

Abstract


Ritual merupakan sekumpulan perilaku yang dilakukan secara rutin. Lebih dari itu, ritual berfungsi sebagai pembentuk kohesi kelompok. Menggunakan teori identity fusion, ritual merupakan cara individu membentuk persepsi kebersamaan dengan peserta ritual lainnya, sehingga membentuk rasa kesatuan dengan seluruh partisipan. Namun, hingga saat ini belum adanya pendalaman mengenai definisi dan peran ritual yang membentuk identity fusion. Penelitian menggunakan metode systematic literature review memberikan gambaran yang lebih mendalam mengenai proses ritual dalam membentuk rasa kesatuan terhadap identitas kelompok. database EBSCO, Scopus, JSTOR, Proquest, ScienceDirect, dan Wiley digunakan untuk mengumpulkan studi empirik mengenai identity fusion dan ritual, dalam bahasa Inggris dan Indonesia, dan dipublikasi dalam rentang tahun 2005 hingga 2024. Sintesis metode, variabel, dan hasil penelitian, dan karakteristik ritual dari 19 artikel menemukan ritual adalah sekumpulan perilaku yang dilakukan, dipersepsi, dan dirasakan bersama dengan sekumpulan anggota kelompok yang memberikan makna terhadap individu dan kebersamaannya di dalam kelompok. Kemudian, sebagian besar penelitian menunjukkan kesamaan peran ritual dalam membentuk identity fusion, yaitu sinkronisasi perilaku dan emosi, membentuk emosi intens, membentuk ingatan episodik yang dapat direfleksikan kembali, dan membentuk perilaku yang mendukung kelompok.
