ANALISIS POLA MUSIM KELAHIRAN UNTUK KEBIJAKAN PENINGKATAN SARANA PELAYANAN KESEHATAN IBU DAN ANAK

Abstract

Seasonality of births in Surabaya Municipality and in private
hospital Rumkital dr.Ramelan Surabaya in five years from 1994
to 1998 are analysed using chi square statistics analysis, with
degree of freedom (df)=1 and signification (P)=0,05. Both
patterns either on Surabaya or on Rumkital dr.Ramelan
Surabaya showed that minor peak of birth happened on
November and December. In 9 months time lag before, the
seasonality of conception showed on February and March. In
Messiah’s year (based on solar calendar system) the pattern
did not have any meaning, but when we conserved to Hijriyah’s
year (based on lunar calender system), February and March
in 1994 to 1998 were iftar on Ramadhan and Moslem’s holiday
on Syawal. These patterns were consisted in five years. The
major peak of birth in both patterns either on Surabaya or on
Rumkital dr.Ramelan Surabaya showed differences in the
seasonality of births. Practically there were also differences
on seasonality of conception. Seasonality of births analysis
could be a policy adviced to increase the healthcares for
pregnant women and babies.
