PERBEDAAN DAYA ANTI BAKTERI TETRACHLORODECAOXIDE, POVIDON IODINE, DAN HIDROGEN PEROKSIDA (H2O2) TERHADAPBAKTERI PSEUDOMONAS AERUGINOSA SECARA INVITRO

Abstract


Antiseptic is an antibacterial substance which against pathological flora mechanically, chemically or both of them. It is applied to remove, to prevent as well as to reduce microorganism amount. Antiseptic  is used commonly in Oral Surgery Clinic, Sardjito hospital, is 3% Hidrogen Peroxida (H2O2), 10% Povidone Iodine (PI), and 0,002% Tetrachlorodecaoxide (TCDO). Antiseptic is used because in open wound after incision as well as operation procedure is vulnerable to be bacterial infected, for instance Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, the highest population in ENT’s ward and Oral Surgery in Sardjito Hospital. Pseudomonas Aeruginosa is a resistance bacteria because their ability to produce biofilm. The aim of this study was to know anti bacterial ability the difference contact time in minimum concentration which were able to kill experiment bacteria untilit can be determined the appropriate antiseptic and utilization prosedure against Pseudomonas Aeruginosa.
There were three strains of Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, they were the standard ATCC 27853, ENT’s isolate and Oral surgery’s isolate of Sardjito General  Hospital. These three strain of bacteria were contated to experiment substances: TCDO, PI and H2O2 with certain dilution and contact time: 5 seconds, 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes. The experiment culture were incubated 24 hours and observed to the growth.
The result showed TCDO had no antibacterial power against Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, whereas both PI 2% and H2O2 0.5% had antibacterial power. The difference between PI and H2O2 was statistically significant (p<0.005). The difference of contact time in the smallest concentration between PI and H2O2 also statistically sig-nificant (p<0.005).
