Abstract
Dimensional stability is the important key in determining the success of fi xed partial denture treatment. Polyvinyl siloxane is one of the impression material with best dimensional stability. The impression technique and the pouring time of polyvinyl siloxane material are the factors that will infl uence the dimensional stability of fi xed partial denture filine and the distance between fi nishing line. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of pouring time and impression with polyvinyl siloxane as material related with dimensional stability fi xed partial denture fi nishing line and the distance between fi nishing line.
This research run on 36 working model samples of fi xed partial denture which were made from polyvinyl siloxane fi lled with type IV gypsum. The sample divided into 6 groups consist of 6 samples for each group. The groups also classifi ed as 3 groups with one step impression technique and the other three with two steps impression technique.
Each of the impression technique group poured after certain time; after 2 hours, 30 hours, and 58 hours. After the sample precisely made by following the procedures, it scanned with 3D laser scanner (Ceramil Map-400, Amanngirrbach,Germany), then the distance between fi nishing lines measured with 3D tool software. Finally, all collected data analyzed
with two way Anova and proceed with Least Signifi cant Difference (LSD) test.
The results showed that: 1) There was a signifi cant difference between the one step 30 hours, one step 58 hours, and two step 58 hours groups with the master model at the fi nishing line width (p <0.05); 2) There was a
cant difference between the one step 30 hours, two step 30 hours, one step 58 hours, and two step 58 hours
groups with the master model at the distance between finishing line (p <0.05). The conclusions of this study were: 1) The two hours impression pouring time with two steps impression technique and polyvinil siloxane as material shows better dimensional stability than one step impression technique with same pouring time and same material in fi xed partial
denture model fi nishing line.2) The 2 hours impression pouring time polyvinyl siloxane shows the best dimensional stability of fixed partial denture model fi nishing line and the distance between fi nishing line.
