Perbandingan Besar Gaya Rotating Spring Buatan Pabrik dan Tangan pada Teknik Begg

Abstract


Koreksi rotasi diantara gigi-gigi adalah salah satu syarat pertama pada perawatan ortodontik teknik Begg, rotasi dapat menimbulkan gesekan antara braket dan archwire, penggunaan rotating spring membantu mengoreksi gigi-gigi yang rotasi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mempelajari a. Perbedaan besar gaya rotasi rotating spring buatan pabrik dan tangan, clockwise dan counter-clockwise,  diameter kawat 0,012; 0,014; 0,016 inci; b. interaksi antara faktor buatan pabrik, buatan tangan (cara pembuatan) dan clockwise counter-clockwise (arah); faktor cara pembuatan dan diameter, faktor arah dan diameter, faktor cara pembuatan, arah, dan diameter.  
Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratories. Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga puluh rotating spring buatan pabrik dan tiga puluh rotating spring buatan tangan yang terbagi menjadi dua belas kelompok masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari lima sampel. Masing-masing rotating spring diukur besar gayanya menggunakan alat tensile testing machine. Data hasil pengukuran dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi 3 jalur.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: bahwa terdapat perbedaan besar gaya rotating spring diameter 0.012, 0.014, 0.016 inci antara buatan pabrik dan tangan sedangkan yang lainnya tidak terdapat perbedaan. Kesimpulan: 1. Tidak terdapat perbedaan besar gaya rotating spring antara buatan pabrik dan buatan tangan; 2. Tidak terdapat perbedaan besar gaya rotating spring clockwise dan counter-clockwise; 3. Gaya rotating spring yang terkecil pada diameter 0,012 inci, diikuti oleh diameter 0,014 inci, dan yang terbesar dengan diameter 0,016 inci.

ABSTRACT
Correction of tooth rotation is one the first steps in Begg’s orthodontic technique, friction between archwire and bracket occurs when rotated tooth is being corrected, rotating spring is used to correct the rotated teeth. The purpose of this study was to determine: a. the difference of the amount of rotating force between hand made and fabricated rotating springs, counter-clockwise and clockwise rotating springs, which diameter are 0.012, 0.014, and 0.016 inch. b. interaction between factors which are hand made and fabricated (in the way theyare made) and the direction of the rotating spring whether they are clockwise or counter-clockwise; the factor of how they are made and the size of wire being used, the factor of direction and the size of wire being used, the factor of how they are made and the size of wire being used and direction of the rotating spring  
This was an experimental laboratory sudy. This study was used 30 handmade and 30 fabricated rotating springs and divided into 12 groups, each group consist of 5 springs. The force amount of rotating springs were calculated using tensile testing machine, and analized with 3 tail ANOVA.
The results of this study showed that there were differences between rotating force of hand made and fabricated rotating spring which diameter are 0.012, 0.014, and 0.016 inch, but the other factors showed unsignificant results. Summaries: 1. There were no differences between rotating force of handmade and fabricated rotating springs; 2. There were no differences between rotating force handmade counter-clockwise and clockwise rotating springs; 3. The lightest rotating force is 0,012 inch, followed by 0.014 and the heaviest were 0.016 inch rotating springs.
