Focus & Scope

Journal of Indonesian Economy and Business

Aims and Scope

Given its mission of being “a leading journal in the world on the Indonesian Economy and Business,” the Journal of Indonesian Economy and Business (JIEB) is a double blind peer-reviewed international scientific journal with an international Editorial Board. The Journal has been published since 1986, and is issued thrice a year in January, May and September. Its inception was sponsored by Universitas Gadjah Mada Faculty of Economics and Business (UGM FEB), the only Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)-accredited business school in Indonesia as of today.

The JIEB purports to be a medium for research results dissemination and scientific paper exchanges on the Indonesian economy and business among international academics, practitioners, regulators, and public. The JIEB is not preferentially disposed toward either empirical work or pure theory, nor toward one particular method or approach. The Journal is particularly interested in papers relevant to the whole economic and business issues, comprised of three salient disciplines: (1) economics, (2) business administration, and (3) accounting. These fields are furthermore divided into the following specific areas:

Economics: Public Economics, International Economics, Development Economics, Monetary Economics, Financial Economics, Game Theory.

Business Administration: Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, Operations, Entrepreneurship, and Ethics.

Accounting: Public Sector Accounting, Taxation, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Auditing, and Information Systems.

The aforementioned areas are just indicative, and the Board of Editors is in principle welcoming rigorous articles that encompass scientific economics and business fields on Indonesia.

The JIEB is one of the best, if not the best, scientific journals on economics and business in Indonesia as evidenced by an accreditation given by the Directorate General for Research Strengthening and Development, Ministry of Research and Technology for Higher Education, Republic of Indonesia. (SK No. 36a/E/KPT/2016).

The JIEB has been indexed in EBSCO, EconLit, ProQuest, Google Scholar and DOAJ. It is currently putting effort to get indexed by Scopus (ongoing process) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) in the near future. In essence, the Journal is committed to maintaining quality and leveraging accessibility toward online worldwide indexes
