Abstract


Operasi pasar terbuka merupakan salah satu bentuk kebijakan moneterguna mempengaruhi dan mengendallkan likuiditas perekonomian dalam rangka tercapainya keseimbangan interen dan ekstern (Internal and external balances). Otorltas moneter di Indonesia telah lama mengenal dan menggunakan kebljakan ini sepertl tertuang dalam Paket Kebljakan 27 Oktober 1988(Pakto 1988).

Tulisan ini mengkaji efektivltas kebljakan operasl pasar terbuka melalui bekerjanya peranti SBI (Sertifikat Bank Indonesia) dan SBPU (Surat Berharga Pasar Uang). Hasll studi menunjukkan bahwa operasl peranti SBI dan SBPU belum mampu mencapai sasaran optimal dan Justru berdampak kurang menguntungkan bagi upaya pengendalian moneter.
