Abstract


ABSTRAK

Selama ini konsep dan indikator pembangunan kota yang berkelanjutan telah banyak dikembangkan di negara-negara maju. Dalam konteks negara-negara berkembang, dimana kondisi lingkungan, sosial, ekonomi, dan budayanya berbeda, tentunya konsep dan indikator tersebut tidak dapat digunakan begitu saja. Melalui studi komparatip di berbagai kota di negara maju serla lokakarya di Denpasar dan Yogyakarta, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan indikator-indikator keberlanjutan kota di Indonesia. Hasil kajian merumuskan tiga kelompok indkator penting yakni: (l) indikator ekonomi, (2) indikator sosial; dan (3) indikator lingkungan. Masing-masing kelompok dirumuskan secara lebih rinci dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa perumusan indikator satu kota sebaiknya dilakukan oleh segenap warga kota agar benar-benar mencerminkan konsep dan persoalan warga kota.

 

ABSTRACT

Concepts and indicators of sustainable city have been developed in the developed countries. The adoption of such concepts and indicators should be critically examined in developing countries, because the differences in the economy, socio, and political situation of the cities. The research aims to develop indicators of sustainable cities for Indonesia. Through comparative studies of several cities in the developed countries and two workshop conducted in Denpasar and Yogyakarta the research was able  to develop indicators of sustainable cities for Indonesia which could be grouped into three aspects: (1) socio indicators; (2) economic indicators; and (3) environmental indicators. The research details those three aspects. The research also concludes that the development of indicators should be done through partnership among all stakeholders in the city.
