The phenomena that appear in the library as an information center, there are twt all of information sources are available in rhe library. It indicates that user has a special consideration ro preparing the theses, and dissertation using the infonnation sources by internet in the Library of the Faculty of Philosophy of Gadjalt Mada University.The purpose of rite research is analyze rite attributes as a major preferencefor the users who is writing the thesis and dissertation using internet information sources. The attribute that is used in research is the ease factor ro find the information, accessibility, availability of rite library collections. librarian behavior and user behavior.The data thor is used in this research is the primary data that fouaded byquestionnaire of respondents who are writing the thesis and dissertation in the library of the Faculty of Philosophy of Gadjah Mada University between 2005 to 2010 academic years . The instmmem are used in this research using SPSS to get the variables that is considered writing thesis and dissertation as well as tofi nd the most coveted combi110tion for the user looking for information source from online diltabases.The result of the research show that the user references of the informationsourcesfrom onli11e databases however the collections that are available in print in the librtuy of the Faculty of Philosophy of Gadiah Mada University are still needed. Based on the demographic of respondents, the most user who come in the library qf the Faculty of Philosophy of Gadjah Mada University is man in bachelor degree with the rate is 50,8%, 72,9 % are the bachelor degree respondents In productive age between 21-30 years old. and the most respondents is bachelor degree (Sf ) is 55%,While the use of internet is 3-5 hour a day, the use of online darabases as references in write rhe thesis mtd dissertation is 83.1 %. The research show that the users who access of the information sources using online databases in the library of the Faculty of Philosophy of Gadjah Mada University to writes the thesis mul dissertation is more than the users who looks for print reforences in the Library of the Faculty of Philosophy of Gadjah Mada University to writes the thesis and dissertation. The t«ers choose the online databases as a means of accessing i'![ormation because of low cost, the information is up dare, and complete, it can used to shore the in.fonnarion, and easy to use depend use prim collection in the library.

Library as an information center is bridge toward mastery of science and technology. Libraries have an important contribution to the opening of information about science. The library is the heart of the academic life of activity, because information can be obtained from the library that can be used as a basis for the development of science. Airlangga University Library supports the achievement of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi by providing resources that support the learning process, it is necessary to do research on traffic levels and the amount of borrowing books from Airlangga University student group. The results of the research library of the University of Airlangga shows the largest number of visitors to the library during the year 2013 which is 102 347 people FISIP students. Students of the Faculty of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries at least coming to the library which is 3,126 people. The percentage of borrowers associated with the most visitors are the students of the Faculty of Law which is 50.4% or 7,207 persons. While the percentage of students of the Faculty of Pharmacy at least borrow a book that is 5.8% or 1,528 people.

This study aimed to find out: User Satisfaction on the Quality of Service of The Library Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Gadjah Mada University Library. Data were collected by using questionnaires as the main method, documentation and interview as a complementary method. Population taken are all users MIPA UGM Faculty Library in April 2010. Samples taken as many as 100 respondents using incidental sampling technique. The analysis used are Qualitative Analysis and Quantitative Descriptive Analysis. Based on the Quantitative Descriptive Analysis, the results obtained can be summarized as follows: The score of assessment criteria based on the average value of 3.64 overall results thus obtained can be categorized that user satisfaction on the quality of library services at the Faculty of Science, GMU is good. Of the 24 indicators under consideration are translated into five sub-variables, namely: tangible, reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, Empathy. Of the five variables into the user satisfaction in choosing a service to the Faculty of Science, Gadjah Mada University Library which became the main consideration for the variable of tangible, the average value user satisfaction is 3.77, so based on the average value is good. For the dimensions of reliability, the average value user satisfaction is 3.59, so based on the average value is good. For dimensions of responsiveness, the average value user satisfaction is 3.65, so based on the average value is good. For security dimension, the average value user satisfaction is 3.64, so based on the average value is good. For the dimensions of empathy, the average user satisfaction is 3.58, so based On the average value is good.

The usage statistics of online databases need to be studiedfrom various aspects, all ofwhich are usefulfor optimizing the use of the e-journal. This case study examines the eiournal service statistics 2007-2010, as well as its usage growth through the use of booking service of ejournal article at Gadjah Mada University Library. Ebsco is an online database of the most needed, followed by Proquest, JSTOR, Springer and ScienceDirect. Also found that most users ordering ejournal prefer to come straight away, although it's provided messaging and e-mail services.

A stress could happen to everyone. A stress which is related to work is well known as a wark stress. The more someone works the more stressors (sources of stress) will be received. Its research is aimed at recognizing the correlation between work length and work stress on Librarian of Library of Gadjah Mada University. The research uses a quantitative method with a questianer as a data collecting instrument. It is also a population research that takes total population of 3l persons.
Primary data is processed tofind out the work stress level. The outcome of the research that has been already known is about 41,9 o%r espondentso r l3 librarians got low level work stressa nd 58,1% o respondentso r lS librarians don'tg ot stressI.t consistso f 7 mena nd 6 womano fwhich 2 of thema re from senior high school; 6 librarians arefrom diploma; 4 librarians arefrom undergraduate, and the last one isfrom graduate level. Viewingfrom respondentsa ges,l ibrarians that are affectedb y low level workstress are 5 librarians (31-40years old); 3librarians (41-50years old) and 5librarians (above 50years old). Viewingfrom the work lengtHS of the libarrians that experience low level work stress are divided into 4 groups. For librarians who have work length less than 6 years have got no work stress; 6-12 years is I rspondent; 13-18 years is 4 respondents; and more than 18 years is 7 respondents;havegotlowlevelofworkstress.Thceo nclusion is that a work stressc ould happen to librarians of Library of Gadjah Mada University. Meanwhile, the result of statistic test using spearman'sr ho testi s knownt hatp significancel evel is 0,06w hich meanst hat it is bigger thanp table that only 0,05.I t meanst hat hypotheticz ero is acceptedI.t could be said that therei s no significance correlation betweenwork length andwork stress on librarian of Library of Gadjah Mada UniversiQ.

The student's decision to be the member of a library is an expression of their need od information. This decision is influenced by intern al and external factors, such as social, milieu and motivation. There are so many kinds of library in UGM: faculty, research center, diploma program, etc. That makes not all UGM students want to become the members ofuniversity library. The success ofa library can be measured by the quantity and quality of its members, such as increasing of active users of potential users.
The problems are: why do UGM students choose or do not choose to become the member of UPU library? What are the factors influenced this choice? Is there any significant difference between the sex, education, or development that they take? The method that is used is eclective qualitative and explanatory research, it explains causal relation between the variable through examining the explanation. The population are the visitors of UGM library, such as UGM students (D3, S1, Pascasarjana) and also from outside of UGM. The datasare taken by quisioner, interview and also examining some documents and similar research. Sample method is used to take 105 responds of library unit I in Bulaksumur and Unit 2 in Sekip. Majority of students have middle decision to become the member of the library. It means that according to them, a library is important for the, but it does not mean that this makes them to become the member of it although they feel that they can get some information from the book available.
The research indicates that social factor; milieu and motivation together influenced the students' decision to become the member of UPU UGM library. The milieu indicates by the support of every family to enforce the members of it to read more and more. And also the lecturers motivated the students to read more and more and to become the member of UPU UGM library. But the most variable that influenced the students to become the member of UPU UGM library is their motivation to aquire their need of information and prestation.

This study aimed to determine librarian Universitas Gadjah Mada contribution at journal "Media Informasi". Quantitative descriptive approach were used in this study, and data were collected by documentation technique. The subject of this study are "Media Informasi" published in 1996-2012, all the articles and authors as an objects. The analysisd ata based on the percentage provided on the table. The results showed that the Media Informasi published in 1996-2012, there are 76.53% authors from UGM and 23.57% from outside the UGM. Articles topics of librarian (library human resources) earned the highest ranking (23.95%), and the topic of library institutionsin the second rank (22.39%) While the contributiono the author is still around "the author contributed one article", however there is an author who contributed almost 20 articles in that publication period.

Evaluasi Kualitas Layanan Perpustakaan FEB Undip Berdasarkan Harapan dan Persepsi Pemustaka dengan Metode LibQUAL

Library quality services evaluation is an important activity for acadernic libraries. This research is to evaluate service quality library at Economica and Business Faculty of Diponegoro University base on desired and perceived of users with LibQUAL methods. The aims to measurement library service qualityfrom desired and perceived users, and to know service library dimensions don't fullfill desired and perceived users. Quality is defined as "capability" - how good is the library? LibQUAL is effective total survey market to contact research in library to evaluation library quality service. Assessment based on perceived, minimum expectations, and desired. LibQUAL method gives users a chance to tell library where library services need improvement so it can respond to and better manage their expectations. Dimensions in LibQUAL consist of: Service Affect (SA), Library as Place (LP), Personal Control (PC), and Information Access (IA). Population is taken from Diploma III Program; Regular I, and Reguler II students, year 2009/2010 with proporsional stratified random sampling and the total sample is 81 respondents. This research used quantitative method with sumey and evaluation research. Users were asked to complete a questionnaire. Analyze its to know average perceived, minimum, and desired. The distance of the perceived score from the minimum score (P - M) creates a adequacy gap, and from the desired score (P – I) creates a superiority gap. The result shows that library service quality is fuffill minimum expectation of users. This means users had "enough satisfaction" with service perceived.

One of the most important elements in a library is librarians. The profession of librarians in Indonesia is divided into two. namely skilled and expert librarians. Based on the existing niles, the promotion of functional level of libraritms is achieved by credit rate collecfions without age and gender difference. As a result, the functional position of expert librarians can be done quicker and earlier to develop the careers. The achievemel/l motivation of the expert librarums at the Library of Gadjah Mada University in developing their career is imeresting to explore as it has 35 librarians.This is a qualitative study by using a descriptive analytical approach with in-depth interviews and direct observation to describe the characteristics of the study objects. The informants were expert librarians at GMU Library. The data were collected through librmy research, observations, interviews atUI documentation study and were anayzed qualitatively. The data analysis was conducted by reduction and display data, conclusion and verification.The result shows that the motivation to become a librarian exists after the informants worked in the library as they understand the advantages of librarian position. The motivation of achievemem qllibrarians may be caused by the challenges, happiness etc. The motivation may also comeji-om themselves and the influences ql outside factors such as supervisors' encourt1gement, fimt ily and environment support.The barriers mostly found among librarians were the ability to write scientific writings.untidy and lazy. Meanwhile, the dual role is not a barrier because of time management and familysupport.There are different motivations af achievement among male and female librarians. The female librarians show more development. In fact, there are more female librarians who have a responsibility to manage faculty libraries. The high educational level of female librarians may provide high motivation on themselves

The important factor to create conducive library room is to provide room with various conditions. Those conditions are sufficient lighting intensity, sufficient room temperature, low noise, ergonomic design facilities to support the learning condition for library user.The goal of this research is to ergonomically evaluate library internal environment of Machine and Industrial Engineering Department at Engineering Faculty UGM. The evaluation consists of lighting, temperature, humidity, noise factor, working posture and comfort level of the library user. The result will show whether this library has provided comfort and ergonomic facilities for the library user to study.The data collected shows: lighting condition, maximum lighting in the library is 149.9 lx which is below the recommended standard; the maximum temperature is 24.97˚C which is good; humidity level is 63-66% which is slightly above the standard; and the noise factor is below the Limit Value (70 dBA) namely 59.24 dBA. The library user working posture measures through three students with tall, average and small categories who working with notebook. The RULA analysis shows the tall student is at action level 6 which indicates the need for investigation and the reparation immediately. The average and small student shows action level 3 which indicates sustainable investigation and reparation possibility.The questionnaire collected from 92 samples. The result shows 63.04% respondents choose high comfort, 26.09% respondent shows average comfort, while 10.87% choose low comfort of the library room.

Make a research and write a scientific paper should be used as reference material reference of a study. References must be included in writing in the form of research bibliography. The development of library collections will take place either if the library held a collection of materials relevant to users need. Therefore, the library should know what type of literature is needed and whether there already in library. The research objective is to: (1) Determine what type of literature cited in the Journal Fihris year 2008 and what is the dominant type of literature cited, (2) Language of literature what is quoted in the Journal Fihris 2008, (3) Availability literature cited at Library of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.This research is descriptive with research subjects is Fihris Journal in 2008 that amounted 2 journal with 20 article titles. While the subject of this research is all artcles in Journal Fihris 2008 that is 314 citation. This research method using interviews, observation, and documentation with the application of citation analysis methods. The data were analyzed deskripstif, where the data obtained were tabulated, analyzed the data based on percentages and presented in tabular form.The results showed there were 11 types of literature in the Journal Fihris 2008 with details: the book as much as 131 (41.72%), followed source of the Internet 114 (36.31%), journal 26 (8.30%), papers and research reports 24 ( 7.64%), dictionary 5 (1.60%), manual 5 (1.60%), encyclopaedia 3 (0.95%), magazine 3 (0.95%), glossary 1 (0.31%), law 1 (0.31%), and the thesis 1 (0.31%). There are two types of language used. That’s is english and Indonesia, with details 186 (63.49%) English and 107 (36.51%), Indonesia.Availability of a collection of 185 titles were 43 (27.21%) and is not available is 142 (72.79%).Recommended for procurement of improved collections, technical training citing sources from the Internet held, and English language training improved.

Perjalanan Penerapan Sistem Informasi Open Source Koha di Perpustakaan Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta dari tahun 2006 s.d. 2010

The title of the research is "The chronology of the application of open source information system Koha in the library of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta from 2006 to 2010. "The background of this research is that the development of the information technology demands the library to use the technology. UMS' library was the first and its private-university library using Koha system as the automatic system in Indonesia. Koha's complete features and its development raised confusion UMS' library staff. The use od English language and the small number of the community of Koha users in Indonesia sometimes lead to misinterpretation.The method used in this research was the qualitative method, and its approach was the case study. The reason of using these was that the case happened was unique and the forms of the questions were how and why.The result of the research was that there were 3 periods of the chronology of Koha application in UMS library, namely: pre-Koha, whilst using Koha, and developing of Koha system. The application of Koha system in UMS library had been in accordance with the cycle of the development of the information system. This cycle includes influential factors were: (1) the rectorat's supports, (2) human resource and leadership, (3) trend in the library, (4) integration, (5) theneed of the system, (6) the data analyze, (7) conmunication, (8) good cooperation, (9) socialization, (10) open source, (11) financial condition, (12) the quality of the system, (13) the readiness of the facilities. Besides, the research found that were some factors as the theoretical contributors namely: good communication and cooperation, socialization, abd the readiness of the facilities. It also found that there were one was lost factor, namely: user interface.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of librarians in the implementation of new information technology and the importance of mastery of information technology for librarians. Data collected through content analysis approach (content analysis) to research and journals related to the role of librarians and information technology, as well as the methods of scientific observation. Content analysis is a research method used to determine the conclusion of a text.The new role of a librarian is an expert in the field of information technology that supports information, including programming languages, networking, webmaster and computer technicians. This expertise makes the library does not rely on other experts, but can overcome the common problems in the field of information technology, because basically mastery of technology and language is a necessary condition for any profession.

In carrying out the activities at the library needed a comfort, safety and job security in order to create a condition that is in line with expectations and make history in enjoying what will be done. To create an environment and atmosphare is influenced by temperature, humidity, air circulation, lighting, mechanical vibration, color, ordor, and a number of tools used to support the activities of the library includes tables, ahairs, shelves, cabinets, atc. Furniture or equipment use in the library must also be designed so that a safe and compfortable when used. This study aims to determine the grievances suffered by employees (librarian. This study is a quantitative research approach to ergonomics so that the methods used include: (1) observation by direct observation, (2) interview were conducted using a questionnaire sheet Nordi Body Map and (3) documentation. The results obtained from this study: (1) in the upper body 70% complained of pain in the shoulders and neck, 50 % left shoulder , right shoulder 55 % , and 45 % on the left arm. (2) the body of the middle 60 % complained of back pain , 50 % in the upper right arm , 60 % pain in the waist , 20 % on the buttocks , 15 % on the buttocks , the left elbow 25 % , 20 % right elbow , 30 % below the left arm , forearm 25 % right, 35 % left wrist , right wrist 45 % , 30 % and 40 % left hand right hand. (3) in the lower body as much as 20 % complained of pain in the left thigh , right thigh 20 % , 30 % left knee , right knee 25 % , 35 % left calf , calf 35 % right, 20 % left ankle , 30 % on the right ankle , 20 % of the left leg and 25 % pain in the right foot . It can be concluded that most of the employees (librarians) complained of pain in the right side of the body member .

Developments in information technology have an impact on librarian non-verbal communication in providing their library services. Many verbal communication is not effective because the communicator does not use non-verbal communication well. It also occurs in STIKES Aisyiyah Yogyakarta , which encourages authors to conduct research deskripstif . Sampling was done randomly , by 10.5 % from 2471 people, which is 260 students. Caputo opinion is used to determine the perceptions of students in non-verbal communication can be shown with five things, namely : 1. Facial expressions and eye contact when communicating , 2. Expressions hand, 3. Expressions position, 4. Voice expression, and 5. Expressions physical appearance. The results showed that students' perceptions of librarian non-verbal communication in STIKES Aisyiyah Yogyakarta is " not good", indicated by the value of 2.98 (scale 1-4), so it needs to be an effort to improve it.

This research was aimed to find out the evaluation from the students of undergraduate, graduate, and doctor program toward library resources in the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada. The result of this research was expected to give benefit to develop the library resources for giving the excellent services to the user. This research used quantitative method, questionnaire as the data collection method, and descriptive statistic method for analizing data. The subject of this research was 159 students from undergraduate, graduate, and doctor program as the user of the library. The results showed standard value for each program: undergraduate (2,545963), graduate comprised with Master of Science (2,644517) and Master of Profession (2,541234), and doctor (2,982143). If the value higher than (>) standard value included high categories and less than (<) or equal with (:) standard value included low categories. The comprehensive result of this research showed that (1) high categories evaluation came from the aspects of collection relevancy, circulation, facilities (security, temperature, light, and lay out), and human resources; (2) low categories evaluation came from the aspects of collection (composition of subject and language), services (time, number of collection, duration of borrowing books, and interlibrary borrowing books), facilities (space, table, and chair), information technology (computer/internet, internet accessibility, and multimedia); and (3) variation of high-low evaluation came from the aspects of collection (recently and completeness) services (searching, multimedia, and fine), and information technology (library based on information technology and browsing).

One of the characteristics of digital generation is having high dependence on the utilization of information technology and communication devices. This becomes a trigger for libraries to restructure the role and function of their existing resources, such as human resources that have vital position for the success of libraries in providing the services. Libraries need librarians who have competency in the field of information technology to synergize with users. In reality, the librarians are still dominated by the librarians from the digital immigrant generation who are still learning to adapt with the new environments in information technology. Therefore, the readiness of librarians to meet the needs of digital generation becomes the main issue in this study. This was a descriptive study with qualitative approach. The study objects were thel ibrarians in Gadjah Mada University. The samples(infomants) of librarians were those who represented digital immigrant generation and digital generation. Data gathering methods in this study were literature, in-depth interviews, and observation. The data analysis applied was qualitative analysis and data validity examination using triangulation. Based on the result, it can be concluded that from several aspects of librarians' cornpetency in Technology (Competencies Technology: Core Skills, which includes Core E-mail, Core Hardware, Core Internet, Core Operating Systems, C ore Software, Core Web Tool and Technology Competencies (System & IT), librarians of digital generation have better competency than librarians of digital immigrant generation in the field of IT. Therefore, librarians of digital generation are better prepared to face users of digital generation. However, librarians of digital immigrant generation still have passion or motivation to leam in the field of technology to meet the demanding needs users of digital generation.

Role and function of library unit of medical faculty of Gajah Mada university prepares instrument and support facilities for student of medical education, namely preparing many kinds of information sources in health and medical unit. To fulfill the information need for student, it prepares information sources in various formats, either in printed form or digital form. Printed format is by preparing books, scholarly paper, government published, and magazine. Meanwhile, digital format includes books, scholarly paper, articles, even subscribe database in health and medical unit. Preparing this digital book collection is relevan with student tendency of medical education program in using collection. So that, this research will evaluate the utility of digital book collection by student of medical education of medical faculty of GajahMadaUniversity. The problem formulation is how the student of medical faculty of Gajah Mada university utilize the digital book collection. The purpose oh this research are: (1) knowing the utility of digital book collection by student of medical education of medical faculty of Gajah Mada University., (2) giving opinion to library unit of medical faculty of Gajah Mada University in taking policy to develop digital book collection, (3) giving opinion to the organizer of medical education of medical faculty of Gajah Mada University about the utility of book collection. The method in this research is by using quantitative approach with 94 respondents of medical education student. Based on result and discussion in this research , it is known that the evaluation of digital book collection utility can be categorized good, if the score average is 85,3975 %. Almost all of the indicators get category good., except interest indicator of user. Their category is sufficient because the question for respondents in minor question form. Meanwhile recommendation based on respondents suggestions of proposals are: (1) access of digital book collection can be done from home or beyond of medical faculty area ofGajahMadaUniversity, (2) update digital book collection always be done, (3) library unit of medical faculty ofGajahMadaUniversity intensively socializes to student about the utility of digital book collection.

This study aims to determine the quality library services based implementation of Quality Management System ISO 9001:2008 . User satisfaction and student perceptions regarding the attributes of quality library services that include : tangible , reliability , responsiveness, assuredness , and empathy associated with user satisfaction .This study uses a quantitative approach . Type a descriptive quantitative research . Ex post facto data collection by survey method . Data collection using questionnaires as the primary method , documentary and observation . The study population was a student who came to visit and use the library facilities and using samples UGM proportional stratified random sampling technique.Analysis of the data using parametric statistics , such as regression analysis to test the hypothesis regreasi first and to find out how much of each attribute independent variables contribute effectively to the satisfaction of the user and the product moment correlation and ANOVA to test the hypothesis of a single lane to two . Results indicate that the implementation of quality management system ISO 9001 : 2008 can give satisfaction to the users at the Central Library , University of Gadjah Mada . It can be seen from the results of the user's perception of the quality attributes of library services that include : tangible, reliability , responsiveness , and empathy assuredness related to user satisfaction at the Central Library of the University of Gadjah Mada . It can be seen from tangible attribute indicates the coefficient b = 0.104 and p = 0.022 , attribute indicates the reliability coefficient b = 0.126 and p = 0.009, attribute indicates the responsiveness coefficient b = 0.095 and p = 0.018, showing assuredness attribute coefficient b = 0.125 and p = 0.007, attribute shows empathy coefficient b = 0.193 with p = 0.001 . Positive effect is statistically significant means that the better the user perception of service quality attributes of the higher levels of user satisfaction and conversely the perception of poor quality of service attributes pemustaka on the lower level of user satisfaction in the Library of the University of Gadjah Mada . From the estimation above regression equation, the coefficient of multiple determination ( R2 ) of 0.539 that showed statistically that the role of the variable quality of service for users' satisfaction at 53.9 % . Percentage of the remaining 46.1 % are other variables not examined in this study .

Along with growth and information accretion, the main problem have shifted from way of accessing information become to chosen the relevant information with its requirement. Information retrieval is not possible to be done in the manual system, because very big information corps and non-stoped
growing larger. The information retrieval system is very needed to to assist the consumer in finding information. One of the information retrieval system is online union catalog. With the online union catalog, by users easily can look for the book title, pickings of research and other documentation of library where from and any time.
Getting a number of relevant document with the requirement represent the crux in the searching activity, and effectiveness from online union catalog is this represent the key. Effectiveness from a system influenced by a lot of component which each other related/relevant like: quality of input
metadata in data bases, index, searching strategy, ability of system application and keyword election. A system told effective if the system can find more amount document/ appropriate information of request by precission /high accuracy.
Research done by testing search at online union catalog to use the natural language keyword. Keyword inclusion done at entri of title and entri subjek. Keyword of taken as sampel come from one of title matakuliah of each; every faculty in UGM. From each; every the topic then translated /formulated into 4 natural language keyword. Data obtained is grouped by relevant level. From the acquirement data; then analysed with the test ofnonparametrik Mann Whitney.
From processing data got by conclusion that ratio of retrieval at title entries of equal to 66,6% and subject entries of equal to 58,3%. Data got by mean at title entries of equal to 85,9 document with the detail: very relevant 42,4%, less be relevant 24,2% irrelevant and also 33,5%. While at subject entries found by a mean data of equal to 62,5 document with the detail: very relevant 31,9%, less be relevant 26,45 and irrelevant 30,6%.
Pursuant to this research result is suggested to increase performance from Online Union Catalog of UGM library. Is things required to improved by technique ofsearching and ability of searching system, the importance of taking care ofquality ofdata input, similarity ofmetadata and always the existence of renewal /updating ofcatalogue data from all member library.

The quality of the library will impact the quality of the students and the research. Main Library of Gadjah Mada University as a unit of the information service is expected to be able to provide the information which can fulfill the user needs and also can be a place to process information retrieval. In addition, the available of the computer technology service can motivate the user to visit library more often.
Research method which is used is mixture research i.e descriptive qualification and survey. The respondents who are interviewed consisted of SO, SI, S2, S3, lecturer; researcher, staff of UGM and the users outside of UGM. Whereas, some methods which are used were observation, interviewed and
distributed the questionnaire to 200 users. Analysis is done after interpreting the result of interviews and the survey which the data analysis and the process of the data collecting were observed at the same time. The 3 flow models of Miles and Huberman in Bungin is used i.e data reduction, data presentation, and verification.
The result of the research of the computer technology use in Gadjah Mada Library, as follows: it provides positive impact to the user to visit the library, it shows 94% of the user search the reference materials which are used by the lecturer including papers, lecturing materials, thesis, result of the research and result of the laboratory, it is expected the implementation of the computer technology in the library can change the catalog card to cut the long queue, it shows 75% of the user know very well how to use the computer optimally. The user always follow the technological trend of the computer, and have the enthusiasm high to read. Collection of The Main Library of Gadjah Mada University in the reality shows 75% have fulfilled the user requirement, and so do sum up the adequate computer enough, but require to be added its amount. The service of access internet in this research is inclusive of quickly and better compared depend to library offaculty. The user used the SIP US program very easy, because its program is easy to use. The staff giving services attitude of the user very fulfilled and the system of services circulation use one card system, so that facilitate made easy for staff and the user.

A library is always an interesting place to visit. Many things can be done in the library. With the rapid development of information technology, the roles of a librarian have now expanded — from library education to IT instruction, from browsing along the shelves to digital access tutorial. The roles will continue expanding along with the development of IT.
Along with the development of science and technology, libraries need to ensure that people — especially children and youth — are aware of the development. Therefore, libraries should have programs in making children and youth get knowledge. The programs may vary from inviting experts in science and technology; exhibiting new invention and technological products; science and technology contests in the library, etc. it should be noted as well that librarians need to show or remind people of the inventions in science and technology in the past.

Democratization of information is a manifestation of a nation's democratic life in which people participate in all aspect of development. Participation requires openness and freedom to get access to information. Availability of information in the global era must be accompanied by competence to filter, process and utilize information, which is known as information literacy. Among various formats of information media, printed materials especially books are mostly preferred because they are easy and convenient to use. Books as information media are closely related to libraries, particularly public libraries which are the most democratic and enable all members of community to interact with information and knowledge. However, it is unfortunate that public libraries and libraries in general have not been given proper attention in Indonesia.

A study on performance of reference service at the Main Library, University of Jember began from considering library resources such as collection and staff who were competent in exploiting information resources for user needs, The objective of library service was satisbing user needs through information resources available in the library. There were 3 components of reference service which supported each other in giving satisfaction to users, i.e. documents retrieved, precision and time for service. Whereas factors affecting reference service performance were human resources and collaboration. Fifty samples were taken from the period of January - July 2001. Data collection used interviews, questionnaries, and documentation. Samples were taken using simple random method. Data analysis used descriptive qualitative technique. The Study concluded that reference service performance could statisfy user needs of information.

The study is aimed at investigating the correlation between the pro-social intention and the job satisfaction of Gadjah Mada University Librarians. The subjects of the study are 70 librarians of Gadjah Mada University. The data is collected using Pro-social Intention Scale, Job Satisfaction Scale and questionnaire. An interview is also conducted with some of the subjects and users to gain a deeper understanding of quantitative analysis results.
The first hypothesis of the study suggests that the pro-social intention is positively correlated to the job satisfaction. The higher is the pro-social intention, the higher the job satisfaction is. The results of Pearson product moment correlation analysis indicate that the correlation coefficient between the pro-social intention and the job satisfaction is r = 0,481, p< 0,01. It means that there is a significant correlation between the pro-social intention and the job satisfaction. The second hypothesis suggests that controlling the factors of age and position, the pro-social intention remains positively correlated to the job satisfaction. Gadjah Mada University Libraries are expected to provide a better fast, easy and efficient service. In the past few years, there were some changes at the Gadjah Mada University Libraries; moreover Gadjah Mada University is stated to be a research university so that the library service quality must be improved. To identify the strategy of management of Gadjah Mada University Libraries with the current changes of the library environment. This is a qualitative research based on the collaboration between the research and subject of the research using 12 people to be purposive sampling consisting of some librarians and stakeholders. The Research instruments are interview and analysis of the second data.
Due to of the change of the Organizational structure of Gadjah Mada University Libraries as stated in Rector's decree no. 259/P/SK/HT/2004 which stated that Gadjah Mada University Libraries are under Rector directly and the Libraries had to adapt their mission with the mission and the strategy of the university management. The most expected value of the strategy of management is the commitment of the Rector so that the facility will increase the role of the libraries as the information resources of can be optimum. The applied strategy is a growing strategy to develop the integrated and digital service and to the support university as a research university. Some changes are happening and the perceptions of the stakeholders showed that the strategy of the libraries management must be changed to improve the service quality of Gadjah Mada University libraries. The Commitment is to develop library with the change of the external and internal environment; to increase the quality of the human resources and to decrease the weakness as minimum as possible.

Evaluasi terhadap pemanfaatan koleksi sangat diperlukan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar koleksi tersebut diakses dan dimanfaatkan oleh pengguna. Ebsco Biomedical Reference Collection (Ebsco BRC) merupakan salah satu database jurnal yang berparadigma akses. Evaluasi pemanfaatan jurnal dalam database Ebsco BRC merupakan penelitian tentang pemanfaatan koleksi perpustakaan yang dilakukan di UPIK (Unit Perpustakaan dan Informatika Kedokteran) Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat keterpakaian dan pemanfaatan jumal oleh sivitas akademika di FK UGM. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. . Instrumen yang digunakan dalam evaluasi adalah kuesioner dan usage statistics report. Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keterpakaian jurnal berdasarkan judul yang ada tinggi (97,96%), akan tetapi tingkat pengaksesannya belum dilakukan secara maksimal. Rata-rata pengaksesan jurnal setiap harinya 25%. Dari data usage statistics report dapat diketahui sebanyak 12 judul jumal yang diakses lebih dari 1000 kali yang dinyatakan sebagai jumal yang paling sering diakses oleh pengguna. Saran peneliti berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah bahwa kegiatan melanggan koleksi database Ebsco dapat terus dilakukan , akan tetapi UPIK harus berusaha meningkatkan sosialisasi koleksi, aksesibilitas, fasilitas, dan bimbingan bagi pengguna dalam melakukan penelusuran dalam database tersebut agar dapat dimanfaatkan secara maksimal.

MOTIVASI PUSTAKAWAN PERGURUAN TINGGI NEGERI (PTN) DAERAH ISTIMEWA YOGYAKARTA (DIY) DALAM PENULISAN ARTIKEL YANG DIPUBLIKASIKAN MEDIA CETAK

Pustakawan memiliki peluang yang besar untukmenulis di media cetak sebab mereka memiliki kedekatan dan kemudahan dalam memperoleh sumber-sumber informasi yang diperlukan. Namun demikian, pustakawan sangat sedikit memberikan kontribusi dalam penulisan di media cetak. Salah satu sebabnya adalah minimnya penguasaan keterampilan menulis serta rendahnya motivasi sebagai pemacu kemampuan diri pustakawan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi yang mendorong pustakawan untuk menulis artikel yang dipublikasikan lewat media cetak. Selain itu untuk mengetahui motivasi intrinsik dan motivasi ekstrinsik yang mendorong pustakawan untuk menulis artikel di media cetak. Motivasi pustakawan dalam menulis artikel juga dilihat dari tingkat pendidikan, pengalaman kerja, usia, jenis kelamin dan keikutsertaan dalam pelatihan kepenulisan.
Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif survey. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pustakawan 3 perguruan tinggi negeri di DIY, yaitu UGM, UNY, dan UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Sampel ditentukan secara area random sampling dari ketiga perguruan tinggi yang ada. Data yang diperlukan didapat dengan metode: (1) angket untuk pustakawan sampel, (2) wawancara kepada 5 orang pustakawan senior, dan (3) studi pustaka untuk melengkapi data penelitian.
Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Motivasi paling kuat yang melatarbelakangi pustakawan dalam menulis artikel di media cetak adalah motivasi angka kredit, dengan skor 3,81. (2) Motivasi intrinsik lebih besar pengaruhnya daripada motivasi ekstrinsik dalam mendorong pustakawan untuk menulis artikel di media cetak. (3) Hal yang mempengaruhi motivasi pustakawan untuk menulis artikel di media cetak adalah jenjang kepustakawanan, tingkat pendidikan, dan keikutsertaan dalam pelatihan teknik penulisan. (4) Hal yang kurang mempengaruhi motivasi pustakawan untuk menulis artikel di media cetak, antara lain usia, jenis kelamin, dan lamanya bekerja di perpustakaan.

"The Application of Conspectus Method to Measure The Intensity of Acquisition for Monograph Collection at Badan Perpustakaan Daerah Propinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta period 2003" is the main purpose of this study. The writer formulates three main problems, that is how to apply conspectus method, how to know the intensity of monograph collection, and how to understand strength and weakness of the monograph collection at Badan Perpustakaan Daerah Propinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. The type of this study is a quantitave description research. The main classification of monograph collection 000 — 900 period 2003 is as a subject and Badan Perpustakaan Daerah Propinsi DIY is as an object.
The sampling was taken 50% from the total population. The variable researched is the distribution of classification, strength and weaknesses of the collection, the chronological and language analysis. The method of searching are field research, observation, interview guide and inside evaluator. Data analysis is the process to describe the collected data during this research. Then the result is applied toward conspectus method based on 1 — 5 and language code. Conspectus method is to value library collection based on subject area and to describe the srength and weaknesses of the collection, and to know collection level at library. The result of the study indicates that the Badan Perpustakaan Daerah Propinsi DIY has not applied yet the conspectus method to value strength and weakness of the monograph collection it only uses statistics of acquisition for monograph collection. The intensity of acquisition for the monograph collection is high, it is on classification 300 (social science) and classification 000 (general literature) the result of the inside evaluator is lb to 2a. la (Minimal Level) means the library has a limited core literatur, however it has amount of literature written by main writers. 2a (basic Information Level) means that core material is available to define a subject. Chronological inclusion of monograph collection is relevant, because the needs modern information mainly is 10%. Material literature published in 2003 is 28%. Language analysis of monograph collection is Y, it means the literature material is dominated by one language, except English.

The library needs to know the kind of literature mostly read, and whether those literature are willable in the library. This matter will be used for adding the collection in order to meet the needs of the users. The research aims to discuss citation analysis of Literature Cited in Scription of Department of Cartography and Remote Sensing on the Faculty of Geography at Gadjah Mada University 2005. The purpose of the research is, to know the kind of literature cited in scription of the Department of Cartography and Remote Sensing on the Faculty of Geography, to find out the dominant literature cited, to identify the language literature cited, and to know the availability of the literature cited in library of Faculty of Geography. The subject of the research is the scription of the Department of Cartography and Remote Sensing on the Faculty of Geography. The object of research are all citations in references of the scriptions, numbering at 2554 citations. The method of the data collection used is citation analysis. The Analysis of data is based on the percentage provided on the table. The result shows that the kind of literature cited in the scription of the Department of Cartography and Remote Sensing on the Faculty of Geography 2005 is book 1686 citations (66%), scription 295 citations (11,56%), internet source 138 citations (5,41%), journal or magazine 115 citations (4,51%), thesis 95 citations (3,72%), paper 80 citations (3,14%), research report 51 citations (2%), proceeding 36 citations (1,42%), newspaper 26 citations (1,02%), disertation 18 citations (0,71%), field work report and pidato 13 citations (0,51%). It also describes that the literature in Indonesianlanguange had been more often cited than that in English. It is 1759 citations (68,9 %) versus 794 citations (31.1%). The last, the level of the avalibility of the literature cited is found that 71,68 % where available in the library and the other 28,32% where not available.

Library has social and education functions. The existence of South Jakarta public library cannot be separated from these functions. On the other hand, the reading habit of people need to be improved. The problems to be investigated thus center on the role of the public library in improving the reading habit of society.
This research tries to explore the role of public library in improving the reading habit of society. In compliance with survey method emphazising on descriptive analysis, this research studies 232 respondents. The result of the study indicates that statistically significant influences apply on the role of public library in improving the reading habit : for each variables (X,) 0.022

Labor work performance provides the succers of organization. At the National Library in Jakarta, the labor work performance can be traced from the support of the leadership, human resources quality, and organization culture. The problem is to what extent the three factors influence on the work performance.
This study focuses on the influence of leadership, quality of human resources and organization culture to the optimalization of officers performance. The research was conducted in the National Library of Indonesia in Jakarta in 2006. A survey with descriptive analysis and correlation analysis of product moment was applied. This includes 120 respondents of population amount counted 693 people and produces statistically positive and significant impacts of the independent variables on the officer performances. After testing the correlation by using double regression at the 95 % level of trust, it is found that Leadership (X,) is 13,4 %, Quality of Human Resource (X,) equalsto 14,6% and Culture of Organization (X,) 16,7 % to variable tied Optimalization Officer Performance (10 at 10,4 %. The influence at a time variable of X,, X2, X, to Y pass coefficient of regresi F,,,,,upd equals to 65 %.
The result of the study indicates that each independent variables (X,, X2, X,) hasstatistically positive and significant effect on
dependent variables tied (Y). This applied to all respondents worked at the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia.

The research addresses three main issues: student motivation of Indonesia Islamic University of Yogyakarta, the use of CD-ROM collection at the main library of Indonesia Islamic University of Yogyakarta, and the correlation between student motivation and the use of CD-ROM collection at the library. The study uses a field research. The sample is accidental sampling which involves students using the collection of CD-ROM at the library. In the term of data collection, the writer uses some techniques those of which are documentation, observation, interview and questionnaire. The result of the research shows that, there are correlation between the motivation and the use of CD-ROM collection at the main library of Indonesia Islamic University of Yogyakarta. The research is hoped to contribute to the improvement of services of CD-ROM collection at library in particular and to the development of through collection at the library.

The study aims: (1 )to discover the foreign journal referred by the Gadjah Mada University Psychology Journal dating from 1997 to 2006, (2) to know the percentage of use of the subscribed foreign journal by the Faculty Library of Psychology, Gadjah Mada University founded in Gadjah Mada University Psychology Journal from 1997 to 2006, (3) to know the relevancy and use of foreign journal by the scientific article in the Gadjah Mada University Psychology Journal dating from 1997 to 2006, (4) to know the currency of the foreign journal referred by Gadjah Mada University Psychology Journal dating from 1997 to 2006. The study is a descriptive research with the Gadjah Mada University Psychology Journal by 1997-2006 as a subject, and the foreign journals referred in Gadjah Mada University Psychology Journal by 1997-2006 as an object. Documentation, and interview are used as methods of collecting data, and citation analysis as an data analysis. The result of study: (1) There are 148 titles offoreign journal cited in Gadjah Mada University Journal of Psychology dating from 1997-2006, including 14 titles of the journal subscribed by Faculty Library of Gadjah Mada University, (2) The freguence of the citation of the 14 titles was that: Journal of Personality and Social Psychology by 68 times (39,76%), Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology by 23 (13,45%), Journal of Applied Psychology by 21 (12,28%), Psychological Bulletin by 11 (6,43%), Journal of Abnormal Psychology and Journal of Counseling Psychology by 9 respectively ( 5,26%), Journal of Educational Psychology by 8 (4,67%), Developmental Psychology by 7 (4,09%), Journal of Occupational Psychology by 5 (2,92%), Journal of Cross Cultural Psychology and Psychological Review by 3 respectively (1,75%), Journal of Experimental Psychology by 2 (1,16%), American Psychologist and Health Psychology by 1 each (0,58%). (3) There are also a relevancy between the scientific article and the foreign journal referred, in the Gadjah Mada University Psychology Journal dating from 1997 to 2006 (4) The foreign journal subscribed by the Faculty Library of Psychology Gadjah Mada University was included in a current category (52,77%), not current category (45,47%), and more than 30 years (1,76%).

The student's perception to the circulation service is the background of the study "The Students Perception to the Circulation Service Quality in the Library of Aisyiyah Institute for Health Science Yogyakarta". The purpose of this study is to know how is the student perception corresponding the circulation service in the Library of 'Aisyiyah Institute for Health Science Yogyakarta. The type of the study is a descriptive research with the students as a subject and their perception to the circulation service in the library of `Aisyiyah Institute for Health Science Yogyakarta as an object. The sampling was taken 10% of the total population, 881 students. So 88 students as respondent. The variable of the research is only one. Measuring the perception is based on 5 SERVQUAL Dymention: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness. assurance, and emphaty. The method and technique of the data collection are library research as well as field research consisting of documentation and questionnaire. The data were analysed by using a quantitative descriptive approach. Measuring the perception is based on the likert scale (1-5). then the interpretation of the result perception uses the terms: very good, good, enough, bad or very bad. The result of the study indicates that the students perception were good for the circulation service quality in the library of Aisyiyah Institute for Health Science Yogyakarta with the average value 3,6 or 71%. This number is classified as good. Based on the result, the Library of `Aisyiyah Institute for Health Science Yogyakarta is suggested to increase its service quality. The students are also hoped to be involued in giving input and advice regarding the development of the service. Key words : student perception, circulation service quality

This research is meant to know the student perception towards facilities of the library of public senior high school I Bantul. The result of this research is expected to enrich the insight of the library studies, especially school library issues. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method. The subject of this research is the users of the library, students of public senior high school 1 Bantul. To achieve validity of the data, the writer uses some techniques of the data collection, namely; observation, documentation, interview, questionnaire, and library study. The result of this research shows that 63,9% of the respondents say that the library facility of public senior high school I Bantul is good. In terms of the building indicator, the respondents said that it is not large. It is similar to the facilities of the library by which the students percieve that they are not sufficent enough. Besides, the student perception towards the aspects of the condition and the arrangement of the facility of the school library is good and appropriate enough. Almost all kinds of library equipment are in good condition, except bag, book, and magazine shelves. Similarly, the arrangement of the library is considerd appropriate enough as 2 two kinds of equipment of the library, bag and magazine shelves, are considered still inappopriate. In order to be able to develop the quality of the library, the writer suggest that the library of the school should improve its facilities, especially the shelves. Apart from that, librarian should pay attention to the facilities.

This research aims to know the correlation between research outcome and the process of thesis writing on agriculture science from about 2004-2006 at the Faculty of Agriculture Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta. This is an explanatory research which tries to investigate the causality relationship between dependent variable "the use of the research outcome" and independent variable "the process of thesis writing" by university students about 2004-2006 on agriculture science.
The Research uses primary and secondary data, the primary data use 10 items of questionnairre for independent variable and 10 items of questionnarre for dependent variable. The data was collected from 44 respondents, and all of the respondents are valid to be analysed. The Secondary data are based on statistical data from library of Agriculture Faculty Gadjah Mada University. The data collected were analysed by using quantitative method of regression analysis.
The analysis of the research shows that: the use of research outcome has a positive and significant relation on the process of thesis writing. The relation can be seen from p-value numbering at 0.000 (< 0.005). while determination coefficient is by 35,7%, which can known from adjusted R2 are 0.357. this mean that 64,3% are influenced from other variables.

KUALITAS SUBYEKTIF SIPUS V3 DAN INFORMASI KELUARANNYA SEBAGAI PENDUKUNG KEPUTUSAN

This research entitled "The Subjective Quality of Sipus V3 software and its Information Output as a Support for Decision Making" was motivated by several problems happening during two years in the application of the software. Such automation software is expected to be able to support the success of library services and to produce statistical information for a decision making. The research aims to find out the quality of Sipus V3 software and its statistical information output, and the use of the output for supporting decision making. The research describes the subjective quality of Sipus V3 software, its statistical information output, and the use of the output in decision making process. The research employs a
questionnaire method to collect data and its respondents are 44 librarians involving in Sipus V3 and 26 persons working at the information management department responsible for the statistic output of Sipus V3.
By using a mean method for each indicator value, the result of the research shows that the high indicator score of Sipus V3 software quality as follows: usability-operability 3,75; efficiency of resources 3,75; efficiency of time behavior 3,68; usability-understandability 3,64; functionality-suitability 3,55; maintainability-stability for the rules of lending period and the number of items borrowed 3,43; reliabilityrecoverability 3,30; and maintainability-stability for holiday/closing days 3,20. In contrast, the low indicator score can be seen in the following: functionality-accuracy 2,84; and reliability-maturity 2,68.
Furthermore the indicator score of Sipus V3 statistical information which is high is timeliness 3,31; conciseness 3,23; relevancy 3,15; and completeness 3,15. Whereas the low indicator score is accuracy 2,92. The use of Sipus V3 statistical information is very low, i.e. planning policy of circulation services 2,96; planning policy of collection development 2,88; library planning 2,69; and staffing for circulation staff 2,65.

PEMANFAATAN KOLEKSI REFERENSI SEBAGAI BAHAN RUJUKAN DI PERPUSTAKAAN UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA

This research on the use of reference collection as reconciliation material at Library Library of Gadjah Mada University aims to know how far the use of reference collection level Main Library Gadjah Mada University, by focusing on visiting intensity, knowledge of the benefit, and the benefit value of reference book. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method. With the non random samplings that chooses respondents by accident. The number of sample is 75 respondent. The techniques used in collecting data are observation, questionnaire, interview, and documentation.
Data analysis use in this research is a qualitative descriptive analysis with across tabulation technique method, which is presented in the from of frequency distribution and percentage table. The research show that in visiting intensity 45% respondent often come albeit the visiting frequency only 3 up to 5 times in a month with the time duration for more than 2 hours in one visit so it can be said that the visiting intensity is still high, 73% respondents read reference books to get information. In the knowledge of reference book collection, the research shows that 92% respondents know that reference books are used as reference materials; a profound book that is not needed to be read thoroughly. 49% respondents use reference book for the first time at the university. Their reason to use the reference books because they want to know, increase their knowledge and search for
information. 73% respondents get reference book from UGM's library. In the use of reference collection activity, 59% respondents often use it. Although there is still a reason in using reference book rarely because they have not needed it yet 56% responden never find difficulties. Nevertheless there are still respondents who find difficulties in understanding the language. 71% respondents ask help from librarians if they get difficulty in using reference book. The knowledge of the benefit and the benefit value of reference collection as a reference materials in helping to finish study assignment is that 49% respondents use reference book as reference materials in finishing their study assignment. 57% respondents said that the reference collections of Main Library of UGM support their study. As a final conclusion of this research is that in general, the reference collection at Main Library of Gadjah Mada University has been used to search information which can be used as reference material in helping to finish study assignments, including assignment in writing paper and final assignment, etc.

Library as one of information systems has vital role in collecting, arranging, and spreading information to public who need it. Library has strategic position in learning public because its role is to collect, arrange, and prepare knowledge recording to read and study. There haven't been many user come and utilize the facilities in library. One of factors is lack of promotion or socialization to public about library through mass media, in
this case coverage in newspaper.
To get general illustration about tendency of coverage with theme library and information literacy in Republika, Kompas, Kedaulatan Rakyat, and Bernas November 2006-April 2007 edition. This research has purpose to get general illustration about the tendency of coverage of library theme in Republika, Kompas, Kedaulatan Rakyat, and Bernas, November 2006 — April 2007.Research method in this research is descriptive qualitative method which coverage content of library in the four newspaper Republika, Kompas, Kedaulatan Rakyat, and Bernas. Data from research will be process and analyzed by category analysis and showed descriptively.Research data in the four newspaper, Republika, Kompas, Kedaulatan Rakyat, and Bernas showed that the amount of library coverage is still low. Based of more detailed category, those are (1) library management, (2) library facilities and medium, (3) library technology, (4) librarians, (5) non-substantive, (6) information literacy, the most amount of coverage is on Kedaulatan Rakyat. Coverage theme that often covered the four newspaper is just on coverage category which is not connected directly with library, that is non-subtantive coverage. In this case, it is connected with book information, consist of resensi or book promotin. Meanwhile, for information literacy coverage is placed in second range in its coverage.

Perpustakaan merupakan komponen penunjang yang penting dalam proses pendidikan tinggi. Salah satu aspek yang sangat berperan terhadap pelayanan perpustakaan adalah aspek SDM balk secara kualitas maupun kuantitas. Perempuan merupakan bagian dari SDM yang patut diperhitungkan mengingat
kesempatan mereka untuk berperan terhadap berbagai bidang semakin luas termasuk peran dalam bidang pelayanan perpustakaan. Perpustakaan UGM secara kuantitas memiliki pegawai perempuan yang cukup besar. Permasalahannya, belum diketahui bagaimana peran mereka pada sektor jasa pelayanan perpustakaan.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, dan diharapkan bermanfaat untuk memberikan sumbangan pemikiran pada sektor jasa pelayanan perpustakaan, terutama peningkatan peran perempuan pada sektor jasa pelayanan perpustakaan yang profesional. Permasalahan tersebut dikupas
dengan mempergunakan metoda kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Selanjutnya data dianalisis dan diolah melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, analisis data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Dari hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa peran perempuan dalam jasa pelayanan perpustakaan antara lain dipengaruhi oleh beberapa hal, yaitu tanggapan perempuan yang terdiri dari persepsi dan motivasi, serta sikap; partisipasi; dan kompetensi. Sejauh ini peran perempuan lebih dominan pada bidang pelayanan yang langsung berhadapan dengan pengguna berkaitan dengan sifat perempuan yang ramah, terampil, dan rajin. Perpustakaan UGM memberikan peluang yang sama bagi perempuan untuk memberikan peranannya.

Circulation service is the front line in achieving library objective which is to fulfill user's needs through information resources available in library. Based on the statement, this research is intended to know how success of Gadjah Mada University/GMU Library is in playing its role and function to fulfill the information needs of users. User's attitude on the circulation service is that may be negative or positive.
There are three components which support each other in attitude building i.e. cognitive, affective, and behavior. The research aims to: 1) to find out user's attitude on the circulation service of Unit 2, Gadjah Mada University Library 2) to find out attitude differences based on gender, age, and scientific-social sciences on the circulation service of Unit 2, Gadjah Mada University Library. The research was held at Unit2 GMU Library and took sample of 100 respondents of graduate students that were registered as GMU Library members. Analysis method that was used in the research was descriptive quantitative with a statistic method. Analysis and hypotheses testing used Oneway Anova. The conclusions of the research showed that: users attitude on the circulation services were good and fairly good. There were no attitude differences on the circulation service based on gender and age. There were significant attitude differences between scientific students and non scientific (social) students on the circulation service.

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan Persepsi Pemakai Terhadap Kualitas Pelayanan Terbitan Berkala di Perpustakaan Pascasarjana Universitas Gadjah Mada. Permasalahan yang dikaji dalam skripsi ini adalah persepsi pemakai terhadap kualitas layanan terbitan berkala di Perpustakaan Pascasarjana UGM. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui persepsi pemakai terhadap pelayanan terbitan berkala di Perpustakaan Pascasarjana Universitas Gadjah Mada. Dalam pembahasan ini digunakan teori servqual dari Parasuraman. Sementara analisisnya dengan menggunakan lima dimensi kualitas layanan yaitu dimensi bukti fisik, dimensi keandalan, dimensi daya tanggap, dimensi jaminan, dan dimensi empati. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan maksud untuk menggambarkan persepsi pemakai terhadap kualitas pelayanan terbitan berkala. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan angket dan wawancara. Responden penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa S2 sejumlah 100 responden. Berdasarkan hasil olah data masing—masing variabel dimensi persepsi pemakai terhadap pelayanan terbitan berkala sebagai berikut: variabel dimensi fisik sebesar 4,18 dimensi kehandalan sebesar 3,98 dimensi daya tanggap sebesar 4,11 dimensi jaminan sebesar 3,72 dimensi empati sebesar 4,18 Ada dua dimensi yang paling rendah nilainya yaitu dimensi kehandalan sebesar 3,98 dan dimensi jaminan sebesar 3,72 Mengingat nilai total rata-rata variabel persepsi pemakai adalah 4,03, maka persepsi pemakai terhadap kualitas layanan terbitan berkala di Perpustakaan Pascasarjana Universitas Gadjah Mada adalah baik.

This research is aimed to find out the kinds of students' contribution at some schools' libraries. This research was done Public Service Unit of Muhammadiyah University from March — May 2007. The method used in this research is by analysing the documents as the final report of Public Field Work Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the students' contributions can be both technical and financial aids. The technical aids, such as: room management, inventarization, classification, catalogue, making book card, making member card, putting the book label, giving the book cover, putting the data in computer, book shelfing, arranging the wall paper an doing the administration as well as circulation service. The financial aid was Rp. 3,134,850 used to buy the libraries' needs, including books, bookselves, paint and writing utensils.

PENGARUH PENERAPAN SISTEM INFORMASI PERPUSTAKAAN (SIPUS TERPADU VERSI 3) TERHADAP KINERJA PELAYANAN SIRKULASI DI PERPUSTAKAAN UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh penerapan Sistem Informasi Perpustakaan terhadap kinerja Pelayanan Sirkulasi di Perpustakaan Universitas Gadjah Mada. Model penelitian ini, menggunakan variabel penggunaan Sistem Informasi Perpustakaan (SIPUS Terpadu Versi 3) sebagai variabel independen, dan variabel kinerja pelayanan sirkulasi sebagai variabel dependen. Dimana variabel Penggunaan Sistem Informasi Perpustakaan (SIPUS Terpadu Versi 3) diurai menjadi subvariabel-subvariabel berdasarkan karakteristik sistem informasi menurut Delone dan McLean (2003). Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan pada staf perpustakaan yang bertugas di bagian layanan sirkulasi dan bagian lainnya yang bertugas perpanjangan waktu (lembur) di pelayanan sirkulasi. Dad 40 kuesioner yang didistribusikan, semuanya kembali dan layak untuk dianalisis lebih lanjut. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis regresi menggunakan Program SP SS versi 12 for Windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dan positif yang ditunjukan dengan angka signifikansi sebesar 0,000 lebih kecil dad 0,05 (signifikan) dan koefisien regresi sebesar 0,175 (positif) antara Penggunaan Sistem Informasi Perpustakaan (SIPUS Terpadu Versi 3) dan Kinerja Pelayanan Sirkulasi. Berdasarkan pedoman Uji Signifikansi korelasi Product Moment, diperoleh koefisien determinasi adjusted R2 sebesar 0,413 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Dari pengujian model diperoleh bahwa variabel penggunaan Sistem Informasi Perpustakaan (SIPUS Terpadu versi 3) mempengaruhi kinerja pelayanan sirkulasi sebesar 41,3% sedangkan sisanya 58,7% (100% - 41,3%) dipengaruhi oleh variabel yang lain diluar model.

KAMAN PELAYANAN MEDIA AUDIOVISUAL: STUDI KASUS DI THE BRITISH COUNCIL JAKARTA

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui cara penyelenggaraan pelayanan media AV, efektivitas pelayanan serta tingkat kepuasan pemustaka terhadap berbagai aspek pelayanan. Penelitian dilakukan di The British Council Jakarta dengan cara evaluasi karena dengan cara ini dapat diketahui berbagai fenomena yang terjadi. Perpustakaan British Council menyediakan tiga jenis media yaitu berupa kaset video, kaset audio, dan siaran televisi BBC. Subjek penelitian adalah pemakai jasa pelaya-nan media audiovisual yang terdaftar sebagai anggota. Subjek dikelompokkan berdasarkan kelompok usia dan kelompok tujuan pemanfaatan media AV. Data angket terkumpul sebanyak 157 responden (75,48%) kemudian dianalisis secara statistik dengan uji analisis varian sate arah Kruskal-Wallis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga media tersebut diminati oleh banyak pemakai terutama pada kelompok usia muda. Sebagian besar pemustaka lebih menyukai jenis fiksi dibandingkan jenis nonfiksi, mereka menggunakan media audiovisual untuk mencari informasi pengetahuan. Pelayanan media audiovisual terbukti sangat efektif dilihat dari angka keterpakaian koleksi maupun tingkat kepuasan pemakain. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa antarkelompok usia maupun tujuan kegunaan tidak ada perbedaan yang berarti dalam menanggapi berbagai aspek pelayanan media audiovisual.

MOTIVASI MAHASISWA MENJADI ANGGOTA PERPUSTAKAAN UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA

Pada dasarnya perpustakaan adalah perpaduan antara manusia, tempat, dan informasi. Perpustakaan UGM merupakan sumber informasi guna menunjang terlaksanya Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. Adapun penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi apa yang mendorong mahasiswa menjadi anggota Perpustalcaan UGM.
Penelitian dilaltukan di Perpustakaan Universitas Gadjah Mada, Gedung Unit II Sekip, pada bagian layanan Kartu Anggota Perpustakaaan. Pada tahun 2006, terdapat 1.674 orang mahasiswa tercatat sebagai anggota perpustakaan. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 200 orang dengan metode aksidental. Jenis penelitian adalah survei dengan pendekatan deslcriptif kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi. Uji validitas menggunakan rumus Product Moment, uji reliabilitasnya dengan menggunakan rumus Alpha Cronbach, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan analisis Anova. Analisis data menggunakan Program SP SS versi 12 for windows.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, motivasi mahasiswa untuk menjadi anggota Perpustakaan Universitas Gadjah Mada, yaitu motivasi ektrinsik dan motivasi intrinsik, motivasi mahasiswa positif dan signifikan. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh nilai F hitung sebesar 33,303 dan signifikansi 0,05, sedangkan nilai value atau tingkat signifikansi 0,000 ( lebih kecil dari 0,05 atau 5%). Disamping itu terdapat penilaian kurang baik dari mahasiswa yaitu pada aspek promosi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut maka dapat direkomendasikan kepada perpustakaan supaya lebih meningkatkan kualitas layanan dan promosinya, sehingga dapat meningkatkan motivasi mahasiswa untuk menjadi anggota perpustakaan.

MANAJEMEN PUBLIKASI HASIL PENELITIAN PADA PUSAT STUDI UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA

Manajemen publikasi hasil penelitian Pusat Studi di Universitas Gadjah Mada merupakan kegiatan dalam melaksankan fungsi-fungsi; perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pengkordinasian, pengelolaan personalia, dan pengawasan dalam kegiatan desirninasi publikasi terhadap basil penelitian pusat studi. Kegiatan publikasi berfungsi sebagai sarana komunikasi antara para peneliti dengan masyarakat pengguna, civitas akademika maupun masyarakat umum. Secara fisik bentuk publikasi hasil penelitian dapat berbentuk: Jumal Ilmiah, Buku Monograf, Prosiding Seminar Hasil Penelitian, Buku Refensi, dan hasil penelitian yang didesiminasikan secara digital, diterbitkan dalam majalah ilmiah tingkat nasional dan tingkat intemasional.
Indikator keberhasilan manajemen publikasi hasil penelitian pada pusat studi pada dasamya ditunjukkan oleh besamya kontribusi terhadap kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, dan seni. Indikator yang disebutkan ini sulit untuk mengukur keberhasilan, sehingga diperlukan indikator terukur yang mudah, dievaluasi dan dikembangkan pada masa yang akan datang. 1ndikator-indikator keberhasilan publikasi hasil peneltian pada pusat studi dapat disebutkan: 1) jumlah publikasi dalam bentuk jurnal, prosiding seminar hasil penelitian, buku monograf, buku hasil penitian, hasil penelitian yang didesminasikan secara digital, diterbitkan dalam majalan ilmiah; 2) tingkat akreditasi jumal yang dikelola pusat studi; 3) jumlah publikasi ilmiah pusat studi yang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarkat pengguna, dan 4) tingkat tanggapan atas pemanfaatan publikasi Keberhasilan manajemen publikasi hasil penelitian pada pusat studi tidak hanya dimaknai sebagai penyokong terhadap kontribusinya bagi tercapainya misi universitas sebagai universitas riset, tetapi lebih dari itu dimaksudkan untuk pemanfaatan bagi masyarakat. Pemegang manajemen pada tingkat pusat studi temyata mempunyai peranan yang sangat strategis dalam menentukan kebijakan dalam pencapaian kerberhasilan publikasi hasil penelitian. Setiap pusat studi mempunyai keberagaman dalam mengelola penyelenggaraan publikasi ilmiah, sehingga menghasilan kualitas publikasi ilmiah yang berbeda pula. Cara tepat untuk mengelola publikasi hasil penelitian adalah dengan cara-cara yang efektif dan efisien dalam pelaksanaan fungsifungsi manajemen yang berlaku.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar pusat studi telah melalukan publikasi hasil penelitian dengan standar sedang, hanya sebagian kecil pusat studi yang telah melakukan publikasi hasil penelitian dengan standar baik. Kondisi ini akan terus berubah seiring dengan perkembangan kebijakan IPTEKS dan didukung oleh kebij akan universitas.

This study aims to describe the process and implementation of empowerment program that have been done by KIM to increase information access to improve the community welfare, identify the most influential program and obstacles faced in this implementation. The objects of this study are Kelompok Informasi Masyarakat (KIM) in Sleman; one case in Turi which represents the developed KIM, and the other case in Gamping which represents the developing KIM The purpose of the empowerment of KIM is how the empowerment runs well through the development process improve the importance of information awareness, increase information access and ihfonnation empowerment through the group.
From the data analysis, the community empowerment process is done through several stages (1) awareness (2) capacity (3) support (4) performing the action and implementation; (5) evaluation. Meanwhile the programs done by KIM cover 1) increasing information access media, 2) socialization, 3) participation government activities, 4) Opening the network to the institutions / agencies / allied organisations 5) trainings (6) participating in exhibition, 7) gaining the capital 8) Conducting assistance, 9) Following the comparative study, 10) Conducting formal meeting with the legislative commission, and, 11) media report. Those activities indeed, can give awareness to the community that information can be useful to reduce uncertainty and can In used to make the best decision immediately. The community becomes more creative in running their business activities that can be able to increase their welfare.
The developed KIM has an easy access to information from various sources, has a capability to access information, discuss, and implements in a variety of business activities so that it can improve the community welfare, has cooperation network with related institutions, has a wider business activities, has more implementation programs, and has an ability to solve their own problems.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan serta seberapa besar pengaruh antara nilai-nilai keislaman terhadap prilaku etika profesi menurut Ikatan Pustakawan Indonesia (IPI) oleh pustakawan muslim Badan Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Propinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta.
Dalam pengambilan data digunakan metode kuesioner dengan instrumen angket, sedangkan wawancara dan telaah pustaka sebagai pelengkap. Setelah data diperoleh, kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis regresi linier sederhana sehingga didapatkan hasil kuantitatif. Setelah itu, data tersebut dijelaskan dengan teknik analisis kualitatif yang didukung dengan hasil wawancara dan observasi.
Hasil penelitian ini adalah hasil penelitian terapan perilaku etika pustakawan menurut IPI di Badan Perpustakaan Daerah dan Arsip Propinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta yang dipengaruhi oleh salah satu faktor nurture yakni nilai-nilai keislaman. Maka dari itu, demi meningkatkan kualitas pustakawan Indonesia, perlu dilakukan penelitian secara mendalam dan meluas tentang etika profesi pustakawan.

MOTIVASI MAHASISWA MEMANFAATKAN FASILITAS PERPUSTAKAAN FAKULTAS STUDI KOMPARATIF ANTARA MAHASISWA DI FAKULTAS EKSAKTA DAN NON EKSAKTA

Tujuan perpustakaan perguruan tinggi adalah mendukung terlaksananya Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi yaitu memfasilitasi program pendidikan, penelitian, dan pengabdian pada masyarakat. Kualitas perpustakaan perguruan tinggi menjadi salah satu indikator mutu pendidikan di perguruan tinggi. Kondisi perpustakaan di UGM pada umumnya belum dapat memberi layanan yang bennutu. Di samping itu terjadi fenomena adanya penurunan pemustaka yang memanfaatkan perpustakaan dari tahun ke tahun. Untuk itu penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengetahui bagaimana motivasi mahasiswa memanfaatkan perpustakaan fakultas dan faktor faktorapa yang mempengaruhinya. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini menggunakan studi komparatif antara mahasiswa fakultas eksakta dan non eksakta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Informan dalam penelitan ini adalah para mahasiswa anggota perpustakaan dan penanggung jawab Perpustakaan Fakultas Teknik UGM dan Fisipol UGM. Data yang terkumpul melalui studi kepustakaan, observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi dianalisis secara kualitatif. Analisis data dilaksanakan melalui reduksi data, display data, pengambilan kesimpulan, dan verifikasi.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari tiga elemen motivasi yaitu kebutuhan, dorongan, dan tujuan, sebagian besar informan baik dari Fakultas Teknik UGM maupun Fisipol UGM dalam memanfaatkan perpustakaan fakultas mempunyai nAch. tinggi. Sebagian besar informan memanfaatkan perpustakaan karena kebutuhan meningkatkan prestasi. Sebagian besar informan memanfaatkan perpustakaan karena mendapat dorongan dari did sendiri, dosen, dan teman. Sebagian besar informan berpendapat bahwa pemanfaatan perpustakaan berpengaruh terhadap IP, tetapi tinggi rendahnya IP tidak mempengaruhi sebagian besar informan dalam memanfaatkan perpustakaan.
Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa semua faktor-faktor penting dari perpustakaan seperti koleksi, sarana prasarana dan layanan perpustakaan mempengaruhi motivasi mahasiswa memanfaatkan perpustakaan fakultas. Sebagian besar informan dari Fakultas Teknik UGM berpendapat bahwa jumlah buku sudah memadai dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan, sarana prasarana cukup memadai dan menilai positif terhadap layanan yang meliputi petugas, waktu layanan, tata tertib, dan situasi kondisi perpustakaan. Semua faktor tersebut telah memperkuat motivasi para informan memanfaatkan perpustakaan fakultas. Sebagian besar informan dari Fisipol UGM berpendapat bahwa koleksi perpustakaan fakultas sudah berkualitas sehingga dapat memperkuat motivasi mahasiswa memanfaatkan perpustakaan. Dalam hal sarana prasarana, sebagian besar informan mengatakan bahwa sarana prasarana masih dirasa kurang sehingga belum memperkuat motivasi mahasiswa memanfaatkan perpustakaan. Dan faktor layanan, yang memperkuat motivasi sebagian besar informan adalah dari segi petugas, tata tertib, dan yang belum memperkuat motivasi mahasiswa adalah dari segi waktu layanan dan situasi kondisi perpustakaan. Dan hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa faktor faktordari luar perpustakaan yaitu dosen, teman, din sendiri dan orang tua mahasiswa, ternyata yang paling mempengaruhi para informan dari Fakultas Teknik UGM dalam memanfaatkan perpustakaan adalah faktor din sendiri dan dosen, kemudian baru teman dan akhirnya orang tua mahasiswa. Di Fisipol UGM, yang paling mempengaruhi sebagian besar informan memanfaatkan perpustakaan adalah dosen, kemudian dari did sendiri, dan teman, sedangkan faktor orang tua tidak begitu mempengaruhi. Dengan demikian faktor did sendiri, dosen dan teman mempunyai pengaruh yang besar kepada mahasisiswa dalam memanfaatkan perpustakaan. Di antara ketiga faktor tersebut, dosen yang paling mempengaruhi para informan baik dari Fakultas Teknik UGM maupun Fisipol UGM, sehingga dosen berperan penting dalam mendorong para mahasiswa memanfaatkan perpustakaan.

Kualitas Pelayanan Perpustakaan (Studi Kasus pada Perpustakaan IAIN Sunan Kalijaga yogyakarta)

This study is aimed at describing the library service quality of State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta from the point of view of users, and at finding out factors influencing it. This description is really important in order to be able to develop it, as the supporter of realizing the three responsibilities of university or institute, namely education, research, and social service. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach of survey method. Sampling is taken from the group of library users numbering 338 people, and 50 of library staffs. Whereas data collecting is conducted through library research, field research consisting ofdocumentation, questionnaire, and interview The data is organized in tables offrequency and percentage distribution, and it is then described. Based on the service quality concept quoted from the decision of minister of state apparatus empowerment no. 8l of L993, there are ten indicators of service quality namely simplicity, clarity and certainfy,o pennesse, fficiency, economy,f air distribution, punctuality, physical facility, capacity and staff attitude. The result of study indicates that the library service quality of IAIN Sunan Kalijaga yogyakarta based on of users' opinion is generally good. This conclusion is based on the mean result7O.247o of the users have good opinion about the indicators of the library service quality. Factors influencing the library service quality are organization climate (87.007o),s upervisions ystem( 68.67Vo)a, nd bureaucracys tructure( 85.337o)A. lthough the serviceq uality at the IAIN Sunan Kalijaga's Library is in general good, there are things to consider. The first is about library location which is, accarding to the majority of users, not strategic. The second, is the necessity of developing service security and comfortable service' The third is the necessity ofdeveloping reliable physical facilities. Lastly, it is necessary to develop library collection both in quantity and in quality taking the needs of new departments and study programs into consideration.

The paper presents the writer's view about the course of International Librarianship that should be offered by library schools in Indonesia. As the course is relatively new to most library schools in Indonesia, the writer tries to propose the syllabus for the course which includes the goals and objectives and how the course should be conducted. Certain emphases are given for the course to be which comprises aspects such as library regional and international cooperation, comparative studies among libraries of particular region like South East Asia in relation to human resources, application of infoimation technology, services and problems encountered by libraries of different countries.

MEDIEAL ETHICS: Research Themes and Intellectual Base

The objective of this paper is to reflect the intellectual structure of the research field in medical ethics. Central research themes of both citing and cited doiuments were found to focus on issues concerning autonomy, ethics education, principles of ethics, medical research and life-death decisions. An additional number of themes with delimited foci were also identified. On the basis of the findings it was concluded that the objective of describing the intellectual structure of medical ethics was notreachedin terms of completenessT. he data consistedo f 477 bibliographic descriptionso f publications of Jourhal of Medical Ethics fuomthe period I993-2OOL and the bibiiometric methods used were cocitation analysis and bibliographic coupling. Additional bibliometric applications identified and extracted documents in the sample with a citation relationship to the same and analysed the co-occurrence of descriptor terms. General statistical techniques applied were multidimensional scaling and cluster analysis.

SIKAP MAHASISWA TERHADAP FASILITAS DAN PELAYANAN PERPUSTAKAAN UNIVERSITAS ATMA JAYA YOGYAKARTA

The objectives of the study on attitude are: (l) to investigate the attitude of the students toward thefacilities and theservices of Atma Jaya Yogtakarta University library and (2) to uncover the difference in the attitude of the students majoring in exact disciplines and those majoring in non-exact ones toward the facilities and the services of the Atma Jaya Yogyakarta University library. The study is conducted in the Atma Jaya Yogyakarta University with 200 samples as respondents. They consist of 100 degree students majoring in exact disciplines and 100 degree students majoring in nonexact disciplines. The analysis of the study is quantitative-descriptively conducted and the method employed is of applied
statistics one. Subsequently, the analysis and the hypothesis are examined using one-way ANOVA.The result of the study shows that: (1) the attitude of the students toward the facilities of the Atma Jaya Yogtakarta University library tends to be both positive and negative in general. There are 4.5% of the 200 respondents having negative attitude, 4 t .5% having the tendency of negative attitude, 49.5% having the tendency of positive attitude; and (2) the attitude of the students toward the service of the Atma Jaya yogtakarta University library tends to be positive in general. There are 2% of the 200 respondents having negative attitude, 18% having the tendency of negative attitude, 60% having the tendency of positive
attitude, 19.5% having positive attitude and 0.5oh having very positive attitude; (3) there is a significant dffirence in attitude between the students majoring in exact disciplines and those majoring in non-exact disciplines toward the facilities and the services of the Atma Jaya Yogtakarta University library. The student majoring in non-exact disciplines have more positive attitude thqn those majoring in exact disciplines; and (4) there is a significant diference in the attitude between the students majoring in exact disciplines and those majoring in non-exact disciplines. The difference in attitude is found especially in the services of information tracing and copying. The attitude of the students majoring in exact disciplines is more positives than those majoring in non-exact disciplines toward the two services.

This paper descibes the implementation of Law Information and Documentation System on Government ofYogyakarta Special Territory base on the Man Power Capability (Xl) technology (X2), organization climate (X3), commitments of group member (X4) and leadership style (X5). The results show thqt man power capability (Xl) does not influence significantly to effectivenessw, hile technologt (X2), organization climate (X3), commitmentso f group member (X4) and leadership style (X5) have influence on ffictiveness significantly although in the range of low to middle value. Leadership style (X5) of the leader in the Documentation and Information Network System (DINS) unit through analysis by using product moment and multiple linier regression prove thqt it has a great influence on effectiveness so whether the Documentation and Information Network System (DINS) on Government of Yogtaknrta Special Tbrritory is effective or not depends on leadership style of the leader.

Level equality short education and training program for librarians is a short course that aims at adding the number of librarian functional employment deriving from Civil Government Employees that have a background of nonlibrary education. The employees, therefore its effectivenesss should be informed.
This writing explains the effectiveness of level equality short education and training program for librarian based on the responds of participant and their Managing Personnel of Parents Organizations/Institutions whether or not this short course is effictive according to their perception. The effectiveness of this short course is marked by the occurrence or no occurrence of participant by skill, knowledge, and performance improvement as the indicators influenced. While the influencing indicators are curiculum suitability, instructors ability and treatment to participants. The result of the research showed that there were dffirent perceptions among the participants and their Managing Personnel of Parent Organizations/Institutions. The participants stated that this short course was not effective while their Managing Personnel of Parent Organization/Institutions stated that this short course was effective. This dffirence happened since, according to the participant's perception, there was no significant improvement to skill and knowledge.

EVALUASI PEMANFAATAN KOLEKSI DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN ANALISIS SITASI (Studi Analisis Sitasi Skripsi Mahasiswa di Perpustakaan Pusat IAIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta)

The objective of the study is to evaluate the use of collection by using citation analysis to know the pattern of use of literature by the students of IAIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogtakarta in writing their theses based on kinds, languages, and literature which were dominantly quoted, to know the use of collection and the collection availability. The used methodologt in this research were descriptive statistical research which took all of IAIN Sunan Kalijaga students'theses collections in 2000 comprising 445 theses. Then, their bibliographies were taken and resulted in 11.058 quotes. Those theses represented five faculties. The analysis was presented in the form ofdata tabulation, percentage and frequency tables.
The results showed that the pattern of use of literature in the theses based on the kinds of quoted literatures were books, they were 10133 times quoted (92%); magazines,journals and newspapers were 925 times (8%).Based on the languages, the compositions were Indonesian 8420 quoted (77%); Arabic 2263 (20%); English 375 (3%). Based on the titles, the results were that the students quoted the titles evenly and vary. It started from quoted frequencies far 196 (l.8%), 112 (1.0%),81( 0.7%), to the frequencyo of once quotation.
The use level of collection by the students was high. It was based on the result of questionnaires which were based on the literature titles resulted in the evenly spread collection. The percentages vary. They were 1.8%, 1.0%, 0.7%, and 0.6% to 0.0%. The students complete their theses used the collection in the library of IAIN Sunan Kalijaga. Based on the collection availabitity, the conclusion was that the library provided 99.98 % of the needed collection.
The variety of collection has to be increased in the future and in order to make the use of journal to be more effective, to develop Arabic language collection. Therefore, it needs to develop Arabic language collection. Emphasizing the ability in reading foreign literature, mainly in Arabic could increase the use of Arabic and English collections by the library user It was suggested that to get more accurqte view, this data has to be developed in the following studies, such as by comparing the literature circulation data. This study is expected to be a starting study for the next studies on the productivity of the writer and the old fashioned literature because it still needs subsequent study for the sake of the library collection development.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatn jurnal elektronik dan meneliti faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi mahasiswa memanfaatkan jurnal elektronik berdasarkan teori Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) yang dikembangkan oleh Davis (1989) yang sudah teruji sebagai tolok ukur dalam tujuan dan perilakuk individu dalam memanfaatkan teknologi. Penelitian menambahkan faktor-faktor eksternal complexity, user training dan self efficacy selain menggunakan variabel standar TAM yaitu perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, intention of use, dan actual to use.
Seratus mahasiswa yang menggunakan jurnal elektronik menjadi responden dalam penelitian ini. Analisis data menggunakan pendekatan partial least square (PLS) untuk menjelaskan ada atau tidaknya hubungan antar variabel. Model yang diusulkan dalam penelitian ini dapat dijadikan model pemanfaatan jurnal elektronik.

Karimun District is lied in Kepulauan Riau Province. This Province has not only a very strategic geographic
site,but also it is directly limited to Malaysia and Singapore. With continuously developing area potential, one aspect requiring attention is government's ability to adapt to Local Library and File in Karimun District. One strategy used in, it is to develop library optimally, and provide facilities tosupport it.
Objective of study was to understand Development of Local Library and File in Karimun District. This study
use descriptive - qualitative.
Results of stady indicated that internal environnent affecting the development of local library and
File in Karimun District were: (a) quality of human resources, (b) quality of service, (c) instruments and
infrastructures, (d) budget for library office and. (e) site of library office. Whereas, external environment
factors were: (a) absence of technology, (b) geographic condition of local Library and File in Karimun District, (c) support of other institutions.

ALUR KOMUNIKASI DI PERPUSTAKAAN PROKLAMATOR BUNG HATTA (PPBH) BUKITTINGI

Tujuan penelitian dari studi deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif ini adalah untuk menganalisis alur komunikasi di Perpustakaan Proklamator Bung Hatta (PPBH) Bukittinggi. Peneliti merupakan instrumen dalam penelitian ini. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa atasan dan staf di Perpustakaan Proklamator Bung Hatta (PPBH) Bukittinggi melakukan alur komunikasi dalam organisasi yang terdiri dari komunikasi ke bawah, komunikasi ke atas, komunikasi horizontal, komunikasi lintas saluran, dan komunikasi informasl/ selentingan/ desas-desus berdasarkan faktor-faktor seperti proses aliran informasi, metode, media, format komunikasi, dan umpan balik. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa beberapa poin dari alur komunikasi yang terjadi pada pustakawan di Perpustakaan Proklamator Bung Hatta (PPBH) Bukittinggi masih belum sesuai dengan teori alur komunikasi dalam organisasi, terutama pada komunikasi ke bawah, komunikasi ke atas, dan komunikasi lintas saluran. Namun demikian pada poin komunkasi horizontal dan komunikasi informal/ selentingan/ desas-desus sudah sesuai dengan teori alur komunikasi organisasi.

Library information systems and information assets administered to users become the backbone of library service with the support of information technology. Howevet the application of library information systems that grows rapidly may raise the riskthat causesfailures threatening librarians in assessing sources of risk threats. Risks may include events and conditions that lead to disruption in information services and the problem of the decision-making process evaluation although not documented in writing. Informants of this study consist of librarians who have social interaction with library information system. The method uses qualitative case study approach with in-depth interviews and direct observation.The results ofthe study identifies the riskin a hang of backup server is high, iThe purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of risk management in information systems at Gadjah Mada University Library using NISTSP 800-30 frame work and to determine factors that affect the implementation of risk management in information systems at the library. Risk management in information systems at Gadjah Mada University Library has been implemented to anticipate the various sources of risk threats by conducting risk assessment, risk mitigation and risk electricity is high, in security systems is high, in passwords is high, in authorization permission is moderate and in human resources is moderate. To reduce and eliminate the risk impact, Gadjah Mada University Library conducts risk mitigation by transferring the risk from a library information systemservers to PSDI (Center for Systems and Information Resources), while the risk evaluation of the activities is carried out continuously and consistently by the librarians to implement control and activities in risk mitigation to the extent acceptable to the library. Factors affectiig the implementation of risk management information systems at the Gadjah Mada University Library are influenced by the policies of the University, the perception of the library's head and human resources and technicalcapabilities in the fi eld of information technology.

The purpose of this research is : (1) to know the literature obsolescence cited on the 2008 theses Forest Management Department, Faculty of Forestry UGM (2) to know the growth of literature based on the type and language of collection which were mostly cited by students of the Forest Management Department, Faculty of Forestry UGM in writing theses during 2008, (3) to know the availability of a collection cited by students of the Forest Management Department, Faculty of Forestry Gadjah Mada University in writing theses in 2008, this study is a descriptive research, with research subjects is the theses of Forest Management, Faculty of Forestry Gadjah Mada University in 2008 which amounted to 67 theses and research objects is all the literature included in the cited bibliography on Forest Management theses, Faculty of Forestry Gadjah Mada University in 2008 which amounted to 1498. Method of data collection uses documentation. Data analysis uses citation analysis. The results show that: (1) the literature obsolescence of the theses aged 8 years or ;ess is up to date and aged more than 8 years is out of date (2) the growth of literature on this research shows 8 years, this means that the growth of Forest Management literature is quickly enough when compared with other sciences, while the growth of the literature based on literature and language of the literature indicates that the book is a kind of literature the most widely cited with citation 950 (63, 42%), the language of literature the most widely cited is the Indonesian-language literature with the 1328 citation (88.65%), (3) overall citation data in this study found 865 citation or 57.74% cited in the literature on theses writing is available at the library and as many as 633 or 42.26% citation is cited literature is not available in the library.

Digital natives refer to a generation thatfavours speed, where by communication is done quickly and the information is spread instantly. There is a worry against social and cultural implication of the use of gadget among children. There is also another worry against the impact of mass culture to the mindset and lifestyle of the young generation and the community in general. New technologt is suspected as being used more for recreational rather than educational purposes. Productive activities such as learning, socializing, and deeper probing af precious traditional values will simply be replaced by intense exposure to receational information technology. The study aims at I) comprehensively identifying gadget consumption behavior of school children at Muhammadiyah elementary school of Yogtakarta Municipality using descriptive method that describes naturally the pltenomena and condition with no hypothesis. Informants of the study are gadget users of 10-12 years old at Muhammadiyah elementary schools of Yogyakarta Municipality, i.e. Sokonandi, Karangkajen and Pakel Muhammadiyah elementary schools; 2) describing the behavior and the practice of using gadget by respondents. Interview is conducted freely, even some of the respondents are unaware they are being interviewed. Data are collected through ethnographic approach, by developing the relation between the interviewer and interviewee. The result show that there is no need to worry about the use of gadgets in Muhammadiyah School of Yogyakarta Municipality.

A digital library is an advancement of a conventional library. Wider role of a digital library lies in its ability to give support for service via virtual/electronic/digital network. Through its revolutionary presence, a digital library needs a testfor development. One of the tests that can be used is usqge test of interface service of magister management Digital Library (MM-Digilib) at Magister Management of Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia. Based on theformula of Slovin and Nomogram Henry King, there are 8I valid samples out of 651 of master students accessing digital theses at Magister Management Library, Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia. Out of indicators of usage test - efficiency, effictiveness, ease ofuse and ease ofinteraction of MM-Digilib is in general relatively good. Yet it needs to improve thefunction of Advanced Search in order to assist and shorten time in searching.

A school library that exists in all levels of schools is a facility that supports the process of productive learningfor thefuffillment of information needs especially literature and the information deriving from the teachers. This article is written in response to the problem encountered in school libraries particularly at the elementary school at Subdistrict of Minggir District of Sleman with poor facilities, limited collection and aquisition and management. These conditions will indirectly affect the utilization of the school library by the teachers at elementary schools. This writing is meant to help teachers at elementary schools to understand the meaning of the library within the school. Approach to the analysis is based on the theory of social construction introduced by Peter L. Berger mtd T. Luclcrnan. We can use the concept of meaning and rests on thefact that there are objective reality, symbolic reality, and subjective reality. It is emphasized that the objective reality would affect the return to a subjective reality through a process of internalization. Subjective reality is inseparable from the process of socialization. Subjective reality affects the externalization process at the end. This condition can be associated with the birth of understanding what has been and will be done by the teacher in an elementary school library in the symbolic reality. Finally, this study reveals that there are two typologies ofteachers; professional staffmembers and deserter.

The problems discussed in this research are the quality of public services has been implemented by the Reference Unit Gadjah Mada University Library and the factors that need to be improve in order to improve the quality of service to the community. The purpose of this research was to determine the quality of public services that have been implemented by the Reference Unit Gadjah Mada University Library. The methods used to collect the data are survey and documentation. Research instrument that serves as a means of collecting data in this survey is a questionnaire filled in or is asked to each respondent, are about 14 elements, they are procedure, elements of services, clarity of service personnel, disciplinary officer, officer responsibilities, the ability of officers, fairness in obtaining service, politeness and friendliness of staff, service costs, the matches between service costs with the rule, the accuracy of the service schedule, environmental comfort, and the environmental safety. Methods of data analysis used in this study are based on the Minister for Administrative Reform No. KEP/25/M.PAN/2/2004 consist General Guidelines for Preparation of Community Satisfaction Index. The respondents were Diploma or Undergraduate Students, Postgraduate Student, Doctoral Programs Student, Lecturers/Researchers, and the public, and up to 150 respondents. Based on the results of a survey of 150 respondents, there are four elements of service that has a value less than 2.51 or not good, that is the procedure of service, speed of service, service costs, and environmental comfort. Elements that have values between 2.51 to 3.25 or have a good value, includes elements of compliance with the provisions of environmental safety and the matches between service costs with the rule. While the element that scored more than 3.26 or very well include elements of service requirements, clarity of service personnel, disciplinary officer, officer responsibilities, the ability of officers, fairness in obtaining service, politeness and friendliness of staff, as well as the accuracy of the service schedule. Based on the analysis of research data, overall, public services are maintained by the Reference Unit Gadjah Mada University Library has a service quality index value 77,225 or quality B, we can say that public service at the Reference Unit Gadjah Mada University Library is Good Enough.

Community library is one of the alternative libraries that arise among community members. It is initiated by a particular groups of people who have concerns over the low reading habits among community members. These people hoped that by forming a community library will increase reading interest among community members.A research on this community library is done to study such initiative. This research was done by observing two kindergarten, those were TK Melati Ceria and TK Aisiyah 06. Both of these school have a reading corner that was established and nurtured by the Library of the Airlangga University.Using a qualitative descriptive method, this research aimed to understand the development of these reading corners and to examine if these reading corners grew into community libraries or not. The result of this research showed that since 2011, both TK Melati Ceria and TK Aisiyah 06 run well. The books donated by Airlangga University Library, are well used, although some are worn out due to frequent use. Both the corners has turned into community libraries, and yet, they operate just like any other school libraries.

Keterlibatan Penulis dalam Artikel pada ”Buletin Psikologi” Universitas Gadjah Mada

Scientific publications in universities is one of the criteria in determining the value of accreditation. Faculty of Psychology has published two periodic publications, one of which is a Buletin Psikologi. Nevertheless occur ups and downs in its publication, because it can not be denied that the sustainability of periodical publications need the support of academicians. This study aims to determine how the author of the article on the involvement of Buletin Psikologi publishing period 1993-2014. Method used descriptive quantitative study, collecting data by the method of documentation. Subject study is published in Psychological Bulletin 1993-2014, with the object of study is the author name of articlesthat was published in the publication during the period. Analysis of the data by way of data tabulation and frequency tables created using the percentage calculation. The results showed that during the period 1993-2014 has been publishing 199 articles, with the highest percentage in 2008 amounted to 6.53%. Presentation of articles during this period has involved 117 authors name. Authors can get involved as a first author, second author, and the third author. The highest frequency of the author's involvement as the first author, achieved by Dicky Hastjarjo that is equal to 7.53%. In the next rank achieved by Faturochman by 6.53%. In addition Faturochman also reached the highest percentage of 2% in its involvement as a second author. Based on the agency of origin, distribution engagement authors show that the percentage author of the article lower (41.02%), while the author of the outside is higher (58.97%). However, the percentage of articles written by authors of the higher (67.83%) than those written by authors from outside (31.65%). Datacollaboration of authors showed that the highest percentage (2.01%) contained in the publication in 2010.

This research aims to examine how the evaluation of marketing strategies in effort to construct a user loyalty in Library of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta based on Customer Relationship Management approach. This research is a qualitative research using evaluative approach. The data collection methods are using observation, interviews and documentation. Analysis of the data in this research using two stages analysis namely the data analysis before in location and the data analysis after in location , the steps are (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation, and (4) drawing conclusions. Then this research is equipped with quantitative data analysis to measure the value of evaluation results in the form of percentage figures compatibility. While the data validity used credibility test using triangulation techniques and membercheck. The results of this research is concluded that: (1) Internal communication patterns UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library is encircled in interpersonal way and through by media; (2) Human resources in the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library consists of librarians group and structural staff; (3) The top products of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library are technology-based services, Islamic collections, facilities and comfortable room; (4) The work evaluation of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library organization is by forming a regular forum once a month and work meeting in each end of the year; (5) The communication with UIN Sunan Kalijaga library users occurs in interpersonal way, through social media and “Friends of Library”; (6) The attitude and performance of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library officer are considered in deficient standart and less attention to policies appearance; (7) UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library makes the extensive cooperation with various stakeholders. Thus, the marketing strategy in effort to construct user loyalty in Library of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta is stated 86% (in accordance) with the concept of Customer Relationship Management.

The study aims: (1) to discover the scientific paper librarians referred by the Visi Pustaka Journal in 2008-2013, (2) to know the percentage of use of the subscribed the scientific paper librarians, (3) to know the relevancy and use of scientific paper librarians by the Visi Pustaka in 2008-2013, (4) to know the currency of the scientific paper librarians referred by the Visi Pustaka Journal in 2008-2013.This study is a descriptive research, with Visi Pustaka Journal in 2008-2013 as a subject, and the scientific paper librarians referred in the Visi Pustaka Journal as an object. Documentation and interview are used as methods of collecting data, and citation analysis as an data analysis.The results of study: (1) There are 204 titles of scientific paper librarians are utilized in Vision Library consisting of 78 titles in the form of textbooks and 126 in the form of articles, The results also obtained from 204 scientific paper librarians title is the result of the work of some 109 librarians which consists of 31 forms of textbooks and 78 form the article. (2) Frequency of utilization of the scientific work of the highest librarians kind of text books which Sulistyo-Basuki by 11 times (5.39%) ; Lasa Hs by 10 (4.90%); Pendit, Putu Laxman by 8 (3.92%); Saleh, Abdul Rahman and Sutarno NS by 7 (3.43%); Qalyubi, Sihabbudin by 4 (1.96%); Soeatminah and Supriyanto, Wahyu by 3 (1.47%); Towa P. Hamakonda and Joseph M. Pawit by 2 (0.98%) and 21 other librarians by 1 (0.49%). While the use of scientific work of the highest librarians from the types of articles that Sulistyo-Basuki by 14 times (6.86%); Purnomowati, Sri by 8 (3.92%); Pendit, Putu Laxman by 5 (2.45%); 6 librarians namely Arif Surachman, Sri Hartinah, Hernandono, Neneng Komariah, Ida Fajar Priyanto, and Yaniasih respectively by 3 (1,47%); 12 librarians, each for 2 (0.98%) and 57 other librarians by 1 (0.49%). (3) There are also a relevancy between the scientific articles and the scientific paper librarians in the Visi Pustaka Journal in 208-2013, (4) The scientific paper librarians is used reference in Visi Pustaka Journal 2008-2013 in a current category 81.37%or equal to 166 citation, as is not currentcategory 18,63% or equal to 38 citation.

The study aims (1) to discover the foreign journal used in this article Research Reports di Research and Community Services GMU funded by the Agricultural Research and Development Department of Agriculture in 2007, (2) knowing the percentage utilization of each journal published abroad ever subscribed (either already stopped or are still subscribed) by Library Faculty of Agro complex in GMU of article reports research at Institute for Research and Community Services GMU funded by the Agricultural Research and Development Department of Agriculture in 2007, (3) to know the relevancy and use of foreign journal by the scientific article in reports research at Institute for Research and Community Services GMU funded by the Agricultural Research and Development Department of Agriculture in 2007, (4) to know the currency of the foreign journal reffered by the research report at Institute for Research and Community Services GMU funded by the Agricultural Research and Development Department of Agriculture in 2007. This research is a descriptive study, with the subject of study is a research report at Institute for Research and Community Services GMU funded by the Agricultural Research and Development Department of Agriculture in 2007, and the object of research is the issue of foreign journals are used as a reference in a research report at Institute for Research and Community Services GMU funded by the Agricultural Research and Development Department of Agriculture in 2007. Method of data collection and documentation using the interview method for cross checking. Data analysis using citation analysis. The results of study: (1) There are 103 titles of foreign journal cited in the research report at Institute for Research and Community Services GMU funded by the Agricultural Research and Development Department of Agriculture in 2007, including 35 titles of the journal subscribed by Library Faculty of Agro complex in GMU, (2) The frequency of the citation of the 35 titles was that : Applied and Environmental Microbiology by 14 times (6,51%), Postharvest Biology and Technology and Trans of the ASAE by 12 (5,55%), J. of Food Engineering by 10 (4,65%), J. of Food Science by 10 (3,72%), Plant and Soil by 8 (3,26%), J. of Agriculture Eng. Research by 6 (2,79%), Bioresource Tech. by 5 (2,33%), Food Tech. and J. of Dairy Science by 4 respectively (1,86%), Intern. J. of Food Microbiology, J. Animal Science, J. of Biomass and Bioenergy, J. of Stored Product Research, and Solar Energy by 3 respectively (1,40%), Food Chemistry, J. Meat Science, J.of Bioscience and Bioengineering, and Soil Science Society of America Journal by each 2 (0,93%), Agriculture Ecosystems & Environment, Agricultural Systems, Agronomy J., Biosystems Engi., Biotechnology Letters, Cell, Computers and Electronics in Agricultural, Crop Science, Environmental and Experimental Botany, Food Control, Hort Science, Intern. Dairy J., J. of Food Microbiology, Soil Biology and Biochemistry, Trends in Food Science & Technology, and Trends in Plant Science by 1 each (0,47%). (3) There are also a relevancy between the scientific articles in research reports at the Institute for Research and Service to the Community financed GMU Agricultural Research Agency Ministry of Agriculture in 2007 with a study published in the journal referred abroad, and their utilization are more prone to support theoretical approaches and findings, (4) Journal publications are used abroad as a reference in a research report at Institute for Research and Community Services GMU funded by the Agricultural Research and Development Department of Agriculture in 2007 was included in a current category 60.47% or equal to 130 citation, not current category 40.01% or equel to 85 citastion, and more than 30 years (6,05%).

This research aims to explore the practice of book loan renewal service through Facebook social media at the Library of Faculty of Social & Political Sciences Gadjah Mada University. Type of this research is quantitative. Variable of this research is a single variable that is the utilization of loan renewal services through Facebook. The sampling technique in this research was accidental sampling. Samples in this research consisted of 4829 library users. Data collection methods in this research comprised observation, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis used a percentage formula and regression analysis to examine the results of the percentage of the data obtained The results of the study utilization of renewal service throughFacebook reached 64.43% and fine for overdue loan reached 13%. A test through simple analysis indicated r count > 0.723 0.576 table. So it can be said to be significant, which meant service throughFacebook was considered more beneficial. To conclude, theutilization of loan renewal service through Facebook social media was founduseful.

The aim ofthis research are (1) to know the influence of Rembang Public Library transfer to Kartini Beach tourism area toward animo of visits to the libratyt (2) to know user perception about Rembang Public Library transfer to Kartini Beach tourism area (3) to know animo of visits to Rembang Public Library. This was a quantitative research that used correlation method between location (independent variable) and animo of visits (dependent variable). Data were collected through questionnaire, interview and documentation. Data analysis used product moment correlation and processed using SPSS version 17 for Windows. The result of the study showed there was significant correlation between location and animo of visits. Score of correlation was 0.632 at significance level 5% r table is 0.202. The Rembang public library transfer to Kartini Beach tourism area belonged to good category whereby grand mean of location variable was 2.86. Animo of visits also belonged to high category whereby grand mean was 3.01.

Two keywords in implementing Quality Management System ISO 9001:2008 are customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. Both are important and always influence each other. In the practice of library service, user satisfaction becomes an essential aspect for the library to make a continuous improvement. This means when a library puts priority on user satisfaction, it will make continuous improvement. In other words, a continuous improvement will always be made when the library concentrates on achieving user satisfaction. This study is aimed at identifying the achievement level ofuser satisfaction reached at Sanata Dharma University Library (SD UL) in the period of 2008 to 2014 and to find out continuous improvement that has been made by SDUL, especially, the result analysis on monitoring and assessing user satisfaction. This study was a survey that used descriptive method. The result of the study showed the achievement level of monitoring and assessmentof user satisfaction at SDUL in the period of 2008 to 2014 reached maximum score, that is, 3.5 to 3.8 in the scale of I to 5. Observed from the user satisfaction analysis, continuous quality improvement conducted in SDUL covered three important fields, that is, information and information access facilities, library services, and infrastucture and work environment. A smile is not the movement of the lips without meaning. A smile is a facial expression that shows interest in things that make us love seeing it So a smile shows an expression, may it be happiness, satisfaction, joy or love towards something. Library services need a good interaction between users and librarians, one of these interactions through non verbal communication is smiling. This research was conducted as librarians found it difficult to smile for some reasons. Smile is done only at certaintimes. A smiling librarian will make other librarians and library users respond with a smile too, so there will be a positive interaction, with a conducive atmosphere. But there are various kinds of smile; cynical smile, the seductive smile, stoic smile and sincere smile. A sincere smile is hard to do, therefore it requires a method or trainingfor someone to get accustomed to a smile. First, look in the mirror. Two, smile in the family. Three, smile training using a Chopstick. Four, use "Grin-O-Meter". The library should prioritize a smile training programme. Bung Hatta was the proclaimer of independence, first vice president of the Republic of Indonesia. He was also a scientist and a very prolific writer with his work in various fields of study. His works discuss economic issues, cooperation, politics, law, philosophy, religion, and others. Out of 163 titles of his writings, 69 titles (4.2(X) are available in Hatta Corner, not including translations and works that may still be issued. Bibliographic data of his works are largely obtained from the online catalog of various institutions; i.e. OCLC World Cat 46 titles, Bibliography by the Idayu Foundation 26 titles, NLA 8 titles, Hathitrust 5 titles, the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia 4 titles, JSTOR 4 titles, and Bihliotheek Arnhem 1 title. There are 8 titles ofBung Hatta's works that have been translated into various languages, including Bung Hatta defense manuscript while he was in jail and would face the Hague trihunal, in March 1928, entitled 7ndonesie Vrij!". His most productive period was in the decade of 1951-1960, aged 49-58, with as many as 47 titles of writing. His greatest contributions were in the field of human rights, political and social economy. His works became guide for the governance of the Republic ofIndonesia.

This study aims to compare the utilization of print journals against electronic journals in the information needs qfstudents at the University of Sumatera Utara Branch of Medical Library. Analysis includes the utilization of journals, journal collections according to the user needs. Research method used descriptive with comparative approach. Samples were determined using accidental sampling technique. Data were collected through observation and questionnaires distributed to the students of Bachelor's Degree General Medicine Study Program. Analyses were performed by grouping data from questionnaires and observation. The result of the study showed the majority of students used electronic journals more often than print journals. Overall electronic journals met the information needs of students rather than print journal. In general, students said that electronic journals were more sophisticated than print journals.

Pemanfaatan Koleksi Repository Perpustakaan Fakultas MIPA UGM Menggunakan Eprints

This study aims to identify the utilization of repository collection at FMIPA UGM library using Eprints. It is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. The subjects were librarians utilizing repository collection. The object was repository collection. Methods of data collection in this study were observation, documentation, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed quantitatively. The result of the study showed that the librarian managed to meet the target of uploading as many as 3100 documents in PDF file within 1 month (July 2014) but the proportion based on department was yet as expected. Average utilization of repository collections at FMIPA UGM library was 70.45%. This was considered as very good. The highest score of satisfaction was found in the quality of repository collection (87.75%) and the lowest was in the number of documents used (35.4%). Respondents used repository collection within 1-2 hours per day (80.0%). Respondents read and took notes (80.0%). As many as 87.75% of respondents considered that repository collection of FMIPA library was of good quality, particularly viewed from aspects of currency and relevance to user needs.
